The Fresno Nightcrawler, also known as the Fresno Alien, has been spotted in both Fresno and Yosemite. It is a short creature of about 4 feet, extremely thin, and has no arms. It has also been seen wearing a white cloak. 

Certain Native Americans in the surrounding area claim the Nightcrawlers have existed on Earth for a considerable amount of time and come from a planet consisting majorly of swampland. Their long legs are thought to help them maneuver through the boggy terrain.

Every girl has had the experience where a creepy guy asks for our number and we don’t want to give it to him, but we also don’t want to get gutted in a back alley. “Give him a fake number!” I hear you call, okay and then he says “okay let me call you real quick!” Because they are learning. “Give them your number and then block them!” Okay and then they can plug it into something like Spokeo, pay $10 and know everything about you. So what do you do?

First pick a fake name, I use Jessica, then download the Google Voice app, hook it up to your email, pick a number, and set up a fake greeting with your fake name. You can set it to ring your actual phone like a normal call or text but they don’t have real info on you.

Okay, to the RWBY/gen:LOCK fans who don't usually do comics but are going to read the comic.

This is a non-mainstream side comic in an incredibly volatile industry. YOU NEED TO PAY FOR IT. Or it won't go past six issues.

I know there's a bunch of people who find ways to watch RWBY episodes until they're free on the site, and I know comics are expensive (trust me, I know), but if you can afford to you need to pay for it if you want it to continue.

A cheaper alternative that a lot of people do is wait for the trades to come out (usually a collection of six or so issues), if you do this be sure to pre-order it so DC can see there's an interest early and continue the series.

Also be prepared for a different artist to be on the book after the first story arc, if we're lucky we'll get Gurihiru.

No matter the fandom, no matter how many times people say this, the like-reblog ratio is always so fucking low it hurts, and when it comes to writing/art it's probably worse. There's a reason why the damn reblog button is here you know, it's meant to share what you like. "OMG THIS PIECE IS SO GOOD, I LOVE IT, LEMME LEAVE A LIKE". Yeah, but reblog that too. And maybe also tag it, that also helps. Reblog so other people can see this. "Oh no, that artist/writer that I love so much is leaving the fandom...but why?". Lemme explain that as calmly as possible: IT'S BECAUSE THEY FEEL LIKE NO FUCKING BODY CARES ABOUT WHAT THEY DO, 'CAUSE THE REBLOG RATIO IS SO FUCKING LOW. Few reblogs are seen as a "that shit is good, but not good enough" whole mood, and as time passes, that shit affects us. Yes, us. I also write (or try to), I've been or I am in pretty big and active fandoms, and yet I rarely see a reblog. And as time passes, I start questioning myself, and think that maybe what I do is not good enough. People that I admire, people that I look at as some sort of reference, that inspire me, such as @outlawers or @mrskrazy (and many, maaany others) complain about the low reblog ratio, and fuck, of course they do. Their writing and art (respectively) are so fucking good, and yet the low like-reblog ratio brings them down here and there. Writers and artists put so fucking much effort in what they do, spend so much time on it, and then people barely pay attention to it. And fuck, it's not fair. There's so much good art out here, and that all needs way more attention.

"But if I reblog everything, my blog is gonna be a mess." USE THE QUEUE, YOU UNEDUCATED POTATO. That shit it literally a life saver. You can properly support writers and artists by reblogging their pieces without making a mess. I have like 154 posts in queue, and my blog is always active without too much effort.

Yes, we write/draw for ourselfs, it's a way to relax and all, but appreaciation and support are more than welcome. Low reblogs are the death of motivation, and of fandoms too, as time passes. You wanna make someone's day? You wanna keep a fandom alive? REBLOG WHAT YOU LIKE. It literally takes a few seconds, queue or not, tags or not. And yet, it's so fucking important, it's so fucking meaningful for someone. The world is already a not-so-nice place, let's make a difference in fandoms, here on tumblr and everywhere, at least. Be nice, it doesn't kill you, it actually feels good.

hey so uhhh here’s an important update on what’s apparently happening at the border, especially with the use of the old japanese internment camps

all i can say is i’m sickened by this mess, by the atrocities committed against innocent people. and now there will be no surveillance. no one will be able to see what happens to these people. the UN, the media, and any other human rights organizations cannot get into these facilities, either, in order to stop what’s happening. by the way, coast guard members were apparently aiding in this process as well. so now it’s only a matter of time before it becomes a military movement.

so when are we going to call this what it is? it’s fascism. it’s genocide. and if we don’t stop it now, it’s going to be disastrous.

Sad update everyone, Tama recently passed away… An estimated 3,000 people, including railway officials, attended Tama the cat’s funeral on Sunday, days after she died of heart failure aged 16. [x]

For those who haven’t read articles about it, the local shrine elevated her to a god. She’s now the Eternal Stationmaster and patron god of the station.

You know the main problem with the “live action” Lion King? Why it looks so lifeless?

The hyper realistic style is actually limiting the animators, rather than freeing them. The style makes it much harder to have memorable character designs and good expressions. Real lions don’t need to do things like emote in a way that humans can understand – but characters in a film do. The original movie was more cartoony not due to animation limitations of the time, but because that style genuinely serves the story better.

To show you what I mean, compare these two shots of Simba, from right after Scar says “run away and never return.”

Here is a clear reaction, with a strong beat for us to connect with before the character makes a decision. Even without any dialogue, even without any context, you can understand the emotion there just by the expression and the mannerisms. Is it realistic? No! He’s bright yellow and has eyebrows. But do we empathize with him? Yes!

Meanwhile, here is… a lion. Turning and running. No expression, no beats, no character moments, nothing. He actually can’t express himself because the animators are locked into the realistic style. If they tried to animate a strong expression as warranted for the scene, it would look terrible. Is it realistic? Hell yeah! Look at those textures! Look at that fur! But do we empathize with him? …nah. Not really.

To conclude: when you’re retelling Hamlet with a bunch of animated lions, cartoonish-ness is your friend, not your enemy.

one of the most beautiful movies I’ve ever seen– and easily one of the most realistic in terms of CGI animals– is Guardians of Ga’hoole

now I’m not gonna get into how the movie was adapted or how certain changes may or may not have affected the story/characters, I’m only talking aesthetic and style here

and y’know what this highly realistic style does?

it delivers scenes like this

realism doesn’t just make this scene look real– it punches you in the goddamn gut with the color, framing, and intense zoom-in

and what about the characters? do they show any real emotion?

look at these expressions– these microexpressions! I bet you can easily name every expression here w/o even knowing the context of the scenes! and the realism is absolutely critical here– from the slight pulse of contracting pupils, to a twitch of the cheek. realism shines best in the subtle details

the people animating Ga’hoole clearly had a clear, vibrant vision which they were passionate to deliver. they knew how to bend light and color to grip the audience, they knew how to map gorgeous landscapes and feathered bodies alike, and most importantly they knew where to emphasize owl body language vs. where to emphasize anthropomorphic body language

realism isn’t failing these stories– Disney is 

Disney doesn’t fucking care about these stories. if they did, then we’d be getting more Ga’hoole-esque realism– it’s not like they don’t have the budget for it compared to other studios. they rly don’t have any excuse beyond apathy, b/c ppl are gonna shill out to see any movie Disney’s name is attached to, no matter how shit

also like JESUS i know this is a thing that’s never going to go away but people saying bees should’ve given ad/am a chance to be arrested like by stabbing him non-fatally or wounding him just badly enough that he could no longer fight back and so that they could have a trial for him or some bullshit (all under the guise of not having our heroes become murderers or somethin) like.

they did. they gave him SO MANY CHANCES. and this also has been rehashed to hell and back so i’ll keep it brief edit lmao oops i didnt really can you tell im rewatching seeing red akfshrkghk but like. y’all. right when he says “i know you’ve made your choice. and i’ve made mine.” right there. that’s the moment where no longer becomes just some spar or some hate-fueled battle that will exhaust itself once emotions run dry.

that’s the exact moment when it becomes a fight to the death. blake and yang drop hands and ready themselves to fight. for blake particularly, she pauses for just a fraction of a second longer than yang does. and right in that moment is the moment i believe that blake knows it’s going to end in someone dying. it’s a fight about surviving now. they’ve given ad/am chance after chance (blake herself before yang even arrived and then yang once more) and now there’s no turning back. the emotions that play across blake’s face after yang drops her hand i just

she knows what’s going to happen. she knows where this is going to end. and since she made that promise that she’s not going to die because dying meant leaving yang (and same for if yang were to die) she knows there’s only one outcome possible in this situation. this isn’t murder. this is survival and self-defense. if adam lives, he’ll continue to haunt them. right here is where it ends for everything he’s ever done to both of them. 

of course i expect there to be a significant emotional toll on both yang and blake next volume, but i dont know if i expect there to be a whole ton of guilt over them “just killing a man”. because ada/m made his choice and was resolute in that conviction. he made his choice, but so did blake. her choice, her promise, her vow to never leave yang ever again. 

and boy did she ever prove it.

Also you have to remember that they are being trained to fight monsters. If you let a monster go it is going to turn around and kill you.

If they let Adam go he would just keep stalking them and trying to hurt and do God knows what else to them.

Blake ran from Adam in the trailer because she realized he was too far gone and innocent people were about to die if they continued what they were doing.

She ran away from Adam at beacon and let him escape without telling anyone so she could make sure that Yang got back to everyone safely.

She beat him up at Haven and let him escape so hopefully he would learn a lesson about humility.

All the while him telling her how selfish and cowardly she was and that he was going to kill/hurt everything that she loved and never stop chasing her until she came back to him, as well as having her family targeted and almost killed and then proceeded to stalk her across an entire continent an attack her when she was alone.

So don’t go telling me that he was never given any chances or that he did not have an opportunity to turn a new leaf or repent.

Adam Taurus knew exactly what he was doing and he had no plans for retribution or reconciliation or changing his ways.

He made his decision long ago and the only thing that was going to stop him was death.

If they had run away he would just keep doing the same things over and over again. If they had somehow captured him and taken him to jail he would have just broken out and killed more people in order to get to them.

They had had enough and it was time to stop this once and for all. It was either him or them.
