I personally like to think that in this moment, when B.O.Y.D. is scanning Lena to make sure she’s okay, is when he realizes that she isn’t a “real person”, if you know what I mean.
Sure, he knew she possessed magic but he didn’t know she used to be Magica’s shadow. Since nobody thought it needed to be brought up, nobody told him.
Okay, I’m gonna say this again: I’d have to think that he would’ve known about that before the finale.
Even if we didn’t see him at all between Astro B.O.Y.D.! and the finale, I’d like to imagine that he still became part of the friend group in that time. And thusly, Lena probably would’ve told him about that, since they do have somewhat similar backstories.
