Arcadie: Cold Lands - Demo is OUT!

The very first demo for Arcadie: Cold Lands is now playable!

A few things to know before you jump in:

  • It is currently not playable on mobile (it does run but the text quickly becomes unreadable)
  • It is more of a prologue, thus, quite short
  • It's quite different from Arcadie: Second-Born
  • You need a password to access the demo: 1111

You can try it HERE!

June Q&A

  • Beka is left alone with Alessa and Hadrian.

The door closes with a soft thud, and silence falls over the room. Three pairs of eyes look anywhere but at each other. Hadrian sweeps his tongue over his lip, clears his throat, and then lifts his chin to count the number of cobwebs on the ceiling.

He counts three, no, two. That last one is just a particularly damp stain that somehow looks more alive than the cobwebs do. Hadrian narrows his eyes, trying to see the spider hanging from her silken traps, but the light is too dim, and he can’t meet the eight little shining eyes that, unknowingly to him, watch him just as intensely.

This is her house, after all. All these meddling humans are always coming to disturb the peace.

You receive a note from The Order, the cryptic organisation that has control over the gangs in London. Life has suddenly gotten more interesting, especially when The Order begins to blackmail you with your own demons…

You’re a member of one of the most powerful gangs in the city.

Action. Power struggle. Betrayal. Loyalty. Love. The gang life has it all. It’s practically all you and your older brother have ever known — not that you’ve seen him in a while.

It’s been just under a year since your brother left the city, went on the run to avoid punishment for a crime he says he didn’t commit — the murder of the infamous Zakai McVay. Naturally, many things about this mystery are still under wraps. You can find out what really happened, but it’s impossible to do it alone.

Bring in a bunch of misfits, and maybe you can crack a few closed cases and reveal a few secrets that are under lock and key. You and your best friend join forces with three others, allies you’d never see yourself working with, and realise that together you may achieve everything you’ve ever wanted.

Maybe you’ll even get out of this life.

All of you have mysteries to solve and fights to win.

A fight against society. A fight against the city. And most importantly, a fight against yourself.

So much to lose yet so much to gain.

Are you ready for the biggest challenge of your life?

  • This is rated 17+ for depictions of violence, crime, kidnapping, strong language and eventual (optional!) non-graphic nsfw scenes.
  • Play as a male, female or non-binary; straight, gay, lesbian, bisexual, pansexual, graysexual, demisexual, asexual, gang member w/ the choice of your own pronouns.
  • Play as a person of colour (this choice can have an effect on the story).
  • Choose the name of your gang.
  • Romance any of the five romantic options; all gender-selectable; male, female and non-binary. The ROs are: the best friend, the rival, the initiate, the crown and the betrayer.
  • Choose your gang member’s speciality (tech genius, combat, stealth, deception, charmer or the tactician). Use this skill set to your advantage… just don’t let your weaknesses ruin the operation(s).
  • Choose your gang member’s dark past…
  • Have the opportunity to leave the gang life behind.
  • Or become your gang’s leader.
  • Embark on a crazy adventure with friends, enemies and the powerful and discover the truths everyone’s so desperate to keep hidden.

And if there’s one thing to keep in mind, don’t expect this run in to be easy… we’ve all got secrets we’d rather keep buried.

This life is not a life.

This life may have never been a life. Like all other lives, this one was brought into the world just like all other births: time contracted, splintered, then fell free. It spins on, squeezing moments into the next before reaching the precipice of death; the meaning of existence divided in two.

It starts like this: Unable to see, unable to hear, unable to piece bits and pieces together because at first our hands can only grasp onto nothing. Compressed is the tale of immeasurable weight, dreams and hopes and beliefs all placed upon soft flesh and weak muscle, the floating plates of a skull.

It starts like this: we refused death and that being is now this being in this time and that child did not die and will not die, and that child opens its eyes to a strange new world and will keep hurtling forwards until it crosses the boundary.

A thousand years ago, ten thousand years ago, one-hundred thousand years ago, life came to be because we did not die before we passed down the torch. We are not pioneers. We are not creatures of change. We do not become which that we are not. We were one thing and we are now another, and another thing is not what we asked to be, so we clawed our way out of the dirt and demanded to be heard.

It starts like this: You were murdered. And then you came back.
