“I say to you today, my friends, so even though we face the difficulties of today and tomorrow, I still have a dream. It is a dream deeply rooted in the American dream.

I have a dream that one day this nation will rise up and live out the true meaning of its creed: ‘We hold these truths to be self-evident: that all men are created equal.’

I have a dream that one day on the red hills of Georgia the sons of former slaves and the sons of former slave owners will be able to sit down together at the table of brotherhood.

I have a dream that one day even the state of Mississippi, a state sweltering with the heat of injustice, sweltering with the heat of oppression, will be transformed into an oasis of freedom and justice.

I have a dream that my four little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin but by the content of their character.

I have a dream today.”

The first lesbian couple in Japan

Japan has recently registered its first lesbian couple on the registers. It happened in the Shibuya district, in Tokyo, the first place in the country to allow same-sex marriages.

The protagonists of this story are Hiroko Masuhara and Koyuki Higashi, the first same-sex couple in Japan to have an official certification of their bond.

The document has been released by the district mayor after the request made by the couple, in order to promote the gay friendliness of the district and positively promote the public image of it.

The certificate will allow the couple to have some rights finally recognized, as facilitations on rents, familiar insurance policies and hospital visits.

An important step ahead for a country that’s been claiming for equal rights for gay and lesbian couples for long time and now is getting something back from the authorities and public opinion.

Imagine a gay couple and a lesbian couple

walking down the street. A group of men come upon them and beat up the gay couple, and then force the lesbian couple to have sex in front of them for their entertainment. That’s how it feels when a straight man tells me that gay men are wrong, but lesbians are okay because he’s turned on by lesbians. It’s hypocritical, it’s prejudiced, it’s sexualizing one lifestyle over the other, it’s accepting half of a community and ostracizing the other. I’ve had to stand by and watch half of my community be harassed continually just because someone doesn’t get off on them. What’s worse is when I try to reason with the straight men who tell me these things, it’s written off as me overreacting, being too sensitive, not appreciating that someone thinks my lifestyle is sexy. That’s upsetting.

That’s why I sincerely want StormPilot in Star Wars.

[edit] I want this concept to go viral. Either reblog or copy and paste as your own, I don’t care. Please! Just get it out there. Please.

Love the story! It is so true and it is just sick annoying. People should be able to love who they want no matter the gender or sexual preference.
