Hi adam, any advice for someone transitioning in college? I'm incredibly excited but also kinda terrified? Like, the idea of having to come out to all of my classmates/friends and professors is making me really nervous...

hi, first of all so happy for you ! But i absolutely understand your hesitance / anxiety around the situation! i came out my freshman year of college and was lucky enough to mostly be taking art classes where people were understanding and didn't really bat an eye (if anybody had anything to say they certainly didn't say it to me!) - what helped me most during that time was thinking to the future and knowing that it was a necessary step toward a more true version of myself that i had the opportunity to introduce everyone to. i think the only thing that can assuage your nerves is to just start (which sounds scary..) - come out first to the people closest to you, and the rest can be much more casual and with a lot less pressure (i was basically just emailing professors "hey i go by this name and these pronouns it would mean a lot if you could use them in class" and it not being any type of thing whatsoever, and i know some schools allow you to enter your name and pronouns so people in class can see if that's something you'd want to do). i'm wishing you all the best ! and remember that if anything goes poorly there are systems in place to protect you and groups you can turn to for support! good luck !

does anyone miss the specific way that the sunlight used to fall over everything in childhood lol just kidding i am thinking about normal stuff like sending emails

do you have any tips on making it a habit to cook more/how to make cooking feel like less of a chore? your food always looks delicious

ahhh for me i find such joy in the process of things !! for the past several months i’ve been cooking almost exclusively with my boyfriend which makes it even more wonderful to share the process BUT before that I really enjoyed turning on fun music (or a podcast or a movie) and just making it a little event in the evening for myself. sometimes i put on cute clothes or an apron my mom gave me to make it feel a little more special. i think it was necessary for me to do in the healing of my relationship with food as well - putting effort and time into making meals made me feel more deserving and proud. i find a lot of joy in cooking for (and with) others as well and sharing love thru the sharing of food - that’s a good place to start too! finding something you’ve maybe always wanted to try making or replicating something you’ve had from your favorite restaurant / loved one is a good place to begin as well!

hii how r u doing today ??? i had stress dreams about work lol but it’s a beautiful sunny day so far and im about to put on some music and work on 2 veryyy coool commissions until my mom picks me up to go to the library + goodwill + to go see my art at a little pizza shop :-))
