I am sorry to all black people that are scared for their lives, I am sorry that we live in a society that doesn’t want to hear you, that silences you and your human rights, my heart is hurt and it keeps crying out to you, and although my voice is small compared to people with much more followers than me, I want to use ALL of my platforms to make yourself be heard through me, I want to use my privilege to help you, to stand by you, so that your voice and that of countless other people is heard. I stand with you for your life, your rights, your future and your happiness.
I’ve been blessed to have part of my family black, so I’ve experienced your culture, your character and the amazing heart you all have, I’ve also sadly seen what you go through everyday when you go out to the streets, when you have to run simple daily errands of life, when you want to achieve your goals and happiness and your path is made difficult simply because of your skin color, whereas I’ve barely had to struggle in many aspects of my life.
Since I was little I’ve always felt a huge disappointment in my heart because of the differences people made between me and my family, the unfairness of it all, why could I get into the McDonald’s park alone but my cousins had to be accompanied so they wouldn’t “take something”? Why? Why would you assume they had to take something that wasn’t theirs just because of their skin color? Even with children that difference is made, and my heart fills with sorrow and sadness just thinking that they have to grow up that way, without that freedom, thinking that their skin color brings them problems!
So today, and forever, I’ll stand with you for your freedom, for your voice to be heard and your lives to be treated as they should, as a loving and amazing human being.
Black lives matter, and until their voices aren’t heard as they should, until lives aren’t taken anymore just because of their skin color, then the protesting and shouting won’t stop.
Material doesn’t compare to a life.
