♫ Madame Gaston, can’t you just see it? Madame Gaston, his little wife— Ugh ! No, sir, not me! I guarantee it! I want much more than this provincial life! ♫

One of 2017’s biggest highlights for me was the live action of Beauty and the beast ❤️ I looked forward to it for so long and when it finally came to the cinema I was glued to the screen and loved every second of it, and still do ❤️ it’s a magical, romantic, lovely, cosy, powerful classic and one of my favourite Disney movies ever. At first I was hesitant of a live action beauty and the beast since I’ve always loved the animated classic but they did it SO well and I could watch it every single day! My most anticipated movie this year and it now holds a special place in my heart ✨

26 years ago today Beauty and the Beast was released and gave us our wonderful bookish princess Belle 📖👸🏻. Happy enchanted anniversary Beauty and the Beast! 🌹✨

The Prince’s transformation always gets me so bad, because...

Like, he believes he died, and then, not only he wakes up finding himself alive, but he also finds himself human… which means that Belle loves him.

Those must have been some tough 30 seconds

How did I not notice before that Chapeau is playing his violin when panning out from the servants when they’re lamenting becoming less human every day?

Yeah. Chapeau definitely played his violin during the curse to try and keep everyone’s spirits up, even in their most hopeless moments.

You hadn’t noticed that before? It’s my favorite part of that scene.

Ladies and Gentlemen, may I present my favorite part of the OST:

There’s just so much goodness and a homely feeling to it…it never fails to melt my heart when I feel like life’s not going so well.

And yes, that is Chapeau’s violin, Cadenza, and some random accordion at teh very beginning.

This is underrated.  Listen to it every day.  Good for the soul.

Apparently Belle’s dress in the remake is still bothering me, because yesterday I was compelled to get out my watercolors and make my own version of how I would have done it. We still have the floaty layers of fabric to make the dress move beautifully, but now there’s more drapery to make the skirt more familiar to the original. Also, the original sleeves are back since I still cannot fathom why they got rid of them in the first place.

I used a very different technique than I usually do with my watercolors - with this one, it was watercolors first and then draw the details, which was quite an interesting outcome and explains why the color is outside the lines. However, I quite like it!
