Life is better with alcohol

I want to have sex without having to feel like I have to behave Or pretend in any way – I want to have genuine intimacyΒ  I want to look up into my lover’s eyes and feel a deep sense of connection – That deep sense of wonder and warmth The sameΒ sentiment when I look up into the night sky And see all the twinkling stars that numbs all my distress –  Not dissociationΒ  I want to make love – I want to trust and open myself up, unconditionally, to my loverΒ  I want our love-making to be like a danceΒ  I want to feel safe and completely envelopedΒ  I want to consume and to be consumed entirely I want to giggle at the awkward partsΒ  And smile at the most euphoric partsΒ  I want to feel adored; I want to feel wanted; I want to feel desired For not just my bodyΒ  But my mind, heart, and soulΒ

So many years passed, these are still dreams.

β€œI’m gonna go have a whiskey, then I’m gonna go laugh so hard and be like, β€˜This fucking bitch. She’s great.’”

As they projected poise onstage, behind the scenes the stars grappled with stage fright, speech planning, and microphone management. Kendrick, George’s Up in the Air co-star, fidgeted with her rings and described herself to a stage manager as β€œvery nervous but alright” before taking the stage. Exiting and clearly relieved after finishing her remarks, Kendrick bumped into George’s The Monuments Men and The Good German co-star Cate Blanchett, who looked up from a printout of her speech notes and declared, β€œI’m so bad at this.” (For what it’s worth, no, she’s not, but isn’t it sort of comforting to know that even the seemingly dauntless Blanchett feels anxious before giving a speech?)

β€œWhy do we do this? We could just say no,” Kendrick said.

β€œI was just crying in the bathroom,” Blanchett replied.

β€œI’m gonna go have a whiskey, then I’m gonna go laugh so hard and be like, β€˜This fucking bitch. She’s great,’” Kendrick said as a way to assure Blanchett she would have a cheerleader in the crowd during her speech. β€œNice to meet you, by the way.”

To have Rhodie’s loyalty

and Bruce and Tony’s brilliance.

And to be asΒ understanding as Bruce.

To be as resilient as ThorΒ

and as innocent as Peter.
