i think more people ESPECIALLY americans tbh need to get even just cursory knowledge of the protestant work ethic. there is a christo-capitalist reason you feel guilty when you are not working yourself to death. it isn’t just like, a common Symptom or whatever. it is from a deeply ingrained ideology in the west that affects pretty much everyone (even if you are not a WASP, ur still forced into this culture and will deal with its ramifications).
People who work with kids and say "kiddo" all the time are annoying and every time they do it, another part of me dies.

I got my first (successful) pap smear this week and I just got the results, which are good!!! No HPV or cancer. I am so, so proud of myself. It was one of the most challenging things I've ever done. I can't believe I finally did it. And the doctor got enough cells!
Last time I tried, I had to make the doctor stop because I was screaming in pain. I'm so happy, I feel so fucking proud of myself. I can't say it enough. I'm gonna cry from happiness.
