My latest Civ5 game...
... gave me trust issues and turned me into a God of Vengeance. Had a nice little triumvirate going, until my closest friend turned on my other friend, then on me to sate his expansionist hunger after millennia of peace. He eradicated the other (except for a lone, forlorn colony somewhere in the middle of nowhere, which he took some time later anyway) and almost took a city from me. It still had about 10% HP left when my newly produced battleships turned up and stomped his ground troops from 3 spaces away. Then he had the audacity to offer a peace treaty that would have given him half my empire. I declined and in turn decimated his fighting strength (about doubly mine) to a quarter of what he'd had the time before the war and took the same amount of cities he had wanted from me by force - dumbass mostly had harbor cities. Took to Autocracy like a fish to water and now I have enough votes in the UN to force my proposal through and refuse the other one because my military might has gained me the alliance of all city states. By now, all other players are embargoed; my former closest friend has lost his capital by now (nuked the shit out of it); the other friend was resurrected and vegetates in his pisspoor colony (won it in the peace agreement and felt generous - and how does he thank me for it? By being afraid and guarded, the ungrateful bum); my army is marching on the second to last enemy capital still in its original owner's hands (she'll get what she deserves- no one denounces me and goes unpunished). ... Civ5 is not good for me.

//MY BROTHERS AND SISTERS - HERE IS THE ANSWER TO THE PROBLEM OF FINDING THAT RIGHT WORD!!!!!
I’ve reblogged it before, and I’ll reblog it again
Storybuilding for my first D&D game as DM
I’ve wanted to DM a campaign for quite a while now (#CriticalRole *cough*), but never found a suitable group. Now two friends of mine agreed to join a game for me as a gift. A Tiefling Warlock and a Gnome Artificer want a WTF story... Here’s what I have:
So far, my story involves a 8ft Goliath Baron of a coast village wielding an anchor (nobility...) who asks them to help him recover his long lost sister. They make their way to the lair of the Big Evil (Not sure yet what exactly that will entail^^). The only one in there turns out to be a former bear-like creature that has been turned into a hungry vampire who attacks them once they find it in the crypt. Either the players or probably the Baron take the family heirloom necklace out of the vampiric dust that remains; when they try to leave the crypt, the necklace gives off an anti-magic pulse, some kind of security measure.
The form of the Goliath shimmers and reveals the BARON to be actually a BEARON in (magical) disguise (custom race, a bear/human hybrid). He’s a bard / fighter multiclasser (bard for magical disguise?) NPC. Wielding an anchor.
Thoughts? Ideas? Improvements? Advice?
CHILDHOOD BACK
AND CALVIN IS WITH THE GIRL THAT HATED HIM ASFHAGS
im crying a lil bit
I need this in my tumblr forever.
is anyone gonna talk about how his kids name is bacon???
HE’S WITH SUZIE THAT WAS MY CHILDHOOD OTP
who names their kid bacon
Calvin and Hobbes were Reformation-era philosophers, as was Frances Bacon. I’m better his daughter’s name is actually Frances, but he calls her by the appropriate last name of the philosopher, just as Calvin and Hobbes are last names.
is no one gonna talk about how the girls afraid of Donald Trump in her closet
I know they cut away from Matt pretty quickly after this pun, but I'd like a gif of Matt's face from the latest episode at about 56:30; his reaction to Taliesin saying "am-bear-dextrous." I feel like I would use that reaction so much online whenever I see a particularly terrible (but awesome) pun.
The cut away from this shot made the gif really hard to make, and it’s still really really short. But here’s the best I could do!

You don’t want your DM to give you that look! :D “Roll 1d6 for pun damage!”
Travis Willingham Rage appreciation post. (More Appreciation Posts)
I have yet to see a more perfect Barbarian. I can’t handle #CriticalRole :D His one-liners are SO on point it’s scary!
Some people are upset. That's fine, because everyone is entitled to their own opinion. But let me tell y'all a thing.
Humans are flawed. Kate Beckett is a human. Therefore, she is flawed. Nothing she did tonight was out of character for her. When it comes to her mother’s murder, she can’t just get over it or let it go. And it’s gotten in the way of her and Castle before. She doesn’t want it to anymore. She wants it truly done and over with so they can be happy. She literally said that.
Now, is moving out to work it out on her own the best way to make things work in the long run? Maybe not for everybody. But - even though it hurts my feels to see her go - for Beckett, that is what’s best. She needs to finish what she started when she was 19 years old. And Rita is right- unfortunately Beckett can’t have her Rick and beat the bad guys too - not these bad guys. So Beckett would rather reaffirm her love for her husband and leave him behind - not because she’s done with the marriage, but because she wants to save it. And Castle.
Alexis said it last week - Castle is a writer. He’s a BAMF, don’t get me wrong - but researching and shadowing does not a trained officer make. He’s in danger if he helps her investigate who’s the big bad behind all this. So Beckett is doing what she thinks is best for him and for them.
Guys, Beckett isn’t leaving Castle. She doesn’t want a divorce. She doesn’t want to be separated or take a break or be away from him for even a second. Did you see her breaking down in the hall? Looking back, torn between what she wants and what she has to do? She meant what she said - to save their marriage, she has to work through the rest of this case on her own. Is it awesome? No. But it’s necessary.
And also - since when has Beckett been perfect? Since when has Castle? I mean, Castle has lied to Beckett about her mother’s case before. And Castle left once too, remember? That whole wedding thing? Sure, maybe he didn’t leave by choice. But he stayed away by choice. Because it was what was best for Beckett, for Alexis, and for his mother. He stayed away to protect the ones he loves. Beckett walking away right now is no different.
Look. The writers and show-runners aren’t brand new to the show. It’s not like some random people walked in off the street and took over. They love the show too. They’re telling a story, and they know the end-game. We don’t. We’re still being told the story. And even if you don’t trust the writer and show-runners, trust the actors. Nathan and Stana are producers now. They chose to stick around because they aren’t done telling the story. They could’ve left, could’ve moved on to other things. Last season’s finale could’ve easily worked as a series finale. The actors knew that. And still they came back. I don’t remember the exact quote, but Stana basically said she stuck around because she liked the direction of the story for her character. She’s devoted seven years of her life to this show, to this character. She wouldn’t say that and wouldn’t stick around if she didn’t truly think the story would continue to get better.
One of my favorite things about Castle has always been how realistic the characters and their relationships with each other have been. No friendship, partnership, romantic relationship, or any other type of relationship is perfect and happy all the time. That’s how life works. It sucks sometimes. And Castle, as a show, stays true to that.
Don’t attack the people working hard to tell us this story. If you’re unhappy, just stop watching. No one is forcing you to watch the show. As for me, I can’t wait for next week, the rest of the season, and any more seasons we get, if we get any more. The Caskett road is going to be bumpy for a while. But it’ll work out. To paraphrase my favorite fictional author: ‘it always does’.
THIS. So much.
Personally, I’m still hoping for the Season 7 premiere tie-in for the midseason finale (”IT’S ALL CONNECTED, GUYS, TRUST ME”) so that my bleeding fanboy heart can rest because of beautiful symmetry :D
I feel bad for left-handed inquisitors.
I mean, just picture having to write a letter in the early days of the Inquisition when they don’t have as much control over the mark and they accidentally send their quill into the Fade.
*Inquisitor is writing a steamy letter to (insert romancable character here) *flicks left hand and accidentally sends letter to the fade* *desire demon picks up letter* Desire demon: *blushes* uwu~
NBA 2K16 - MyCareer: First Look
NBA 2K16 - MyCareer - First Look
Having pre-ordered NBA 2K16 (following the hype train, woot-woot!), I got the opportunity to play already, and I was able to quickly form an opinion on the in my eyes most important mode of the game, the MyCareer mode. I’m one of those who basically bought the game for this mode alone, where you take control of a new player in the NBA and lead him to greatness.
This is going to be a bit lengthy, so click below to read the whole rant- eh, I meant review.
