Randomness

@jmbhorses

Totally an INFJ, animal lover, and I belong to too many fandoms.

Fine I’ll say it if no one else will, X-Men Evolution has some of the most accurately written high-school characters ever

No phone addictions, no cringey slang, no self confidence, just terrible emotional regulation, unnecessary saltiness, random duos that were waaaayyyyy better friends than everyone else, the most awkward crushes you’ve ever seen, atrocious height differences, only having three outfits-

“𝘓𝘰𝘳𝘤𝘢𝘯 𝘩𝘢𝘥 𝘣𝘦𝘦𝘯 𝘣𝘰𝘳𝘯 𝘧𝘳𝘰𝘮 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘨𝘪𝘧𝘵𝘦𝘥 𝘸𝘪𝘵𝘩 𝘥𝘢𝘳𝘬𝘯𝘦𝘴𝘴. 𝘙𝘦𝘵𝘶𝘳𝘯𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘵𝘰 𝘪𝘵 𝘸𝘢𝘴 𝘯𝘰𝘵 𝘢 𝘥𝘪𝘧𝘧𝘪𝘤𝘶𝘭𝘵 𝘵𝘢𝘴𝘬. Elorcan is one of my favorite SJM ships (and one of my favorite ships, period), and I’ve always felt like there just isn’t enough Elorcan art out there. So, this is my small attempt toward fixing that!

ironically, when we start to get better- we often get sad bc we start to realize how much we’ve missed out on, how badly certain people failed us, what the younger version of ourselves actually deserved.

healing sometimes involves healthy grieving. no way around it

Some more little details you might have missed/forgotten about in Six of Crows and Crooked Kingdom

(Part three)

1) Kaz is on very good terms with the most successful locksmith in Ketterdam, who is fully convinced that Kaz is the son of a wealthy merchant with a prized collection of snuffboxes that he wants to keep safe, and this is how Kaz knows what different locks the rich of Ketterdam are using to protect the things he wants to steal

2) Matthias never finds out what Nina did at the White Rose, in fact she mentions keeping it a secret effectively as a punishment because she’s angry with him, but he specifically states that he does not intend to ask her and he has no right to judge her, whatever she did

3) One of the first things Inej did upon escaping the Menagerie was have her tattoo removed, but not by a medic or corporalnik: by a local butcher, with the closest thing she had to pain medication being a gulp of whiskey he offered her before “hacking away”

4) When they visit Pekka Rollins at the end of Six of Crows and Kaz picks his pocket, he not only steals his wallet, the buckles off his shoes, and his watch, but he also replaces the watch by putting a turnip at the end of the watch chain, which I never fail to find hilarious. Rollins also references the missing watch in Crooked Kingdom when he pulls out his new watch and comments that “this thing never keeps time right”, which is another parallel between him and Van Eck in reference to the tie pin Kaz stole and how the replacement is “not as nice as the other one”

5) The last line of Six of Crows is “but right now, there was money to be made”, both summarising the attitude of Ketterdam, a comparison between Rollins, speaking the line, and Van Eck for his greed and betrayal of the Crows, and foreshadowing the plot line of Crooked Kingdom. It’s also another reflection between Kaz and Rollins, which is an ongoing comparison through the novels and fuels the idea that Kaz is Rollins’ shadow (this comes from a Suli belief explained by Inej in Crooked Kingdom, and is almost an in-world way of labelling them as literary foils)

do Ryan and Shane remind you guys of when your trying to do a presentation in class and your friend is trying to make you laugh (or is just straight up judging you)? Because that’s what I think
