i bought my idiot sons a new toy because they are my darling princes who deserve only the finest dangly feathers on sticks and tomas is as always being a chill lad about it but kaspar has absolutely lost his fucking mind. utterly convinced that some sort of unkillable demon bird has entered his home. the man has gone full liam neeson re: the dangly feathers. i wiggle the stick a bit and he goes totally black in the eyes, hisses, growls, acrobatic fuckin pirouettes off the handle this cat. absolutely twisted with terrible rage when the beast (cannot emphasize enough: some feathers on a string) does not stay dead. van helsing energy. this cat would fully be performing the monologue from the end of Moby Dick if he knew what English was. i eventually hid the toy because I was growing to fear what my boy had become and he scanned the fuckin skies for it for at least ten minutes, which is twenty times longer than I thought his memory even lasted. this is a beast who will SCREAM for cuddles and insist on being kissed forty-seven times on his tiny head before even considering letting you get some work done but also, to each generation a Slayer is born, APPARENTLY

This weekend I creamed butter and sugar together by hand and kneaded dough for two different recipes, all of which is to say that I could bench-press god right now

This Year for Sure
For Month of Fear 2020, week 4: “Costume”. “Every year prior she had wanted to go up to him and introduce herself, but dreaded rejection for what she suspected was a costume that left much to be desired. But this year she had started early and would be unrecognizable for sure, giving her the courage to finally meet him up close.”
The original legends of the harpies is pretty, well, ancient Greek - bloody and cruel. But I like what modern fantasy made of them and often have ideas with bird women, this time I made her pigeon blue. A mask was the obvious choice for this week’s prompt, so I decided to go with a tricky pose for interest.

Enfleurage Nocturnelle
My third entry to Month of Fear 2020 for the subject Supernatural. There’s A LOT that comes to mind for that word, but I tried to restrain myself from becoming too complex. My first entry had bees and I wanted to play with the subject more but ended up with only flowers. I was given one of those 3D pens that melt PLA filaments, and one of those was glow-in-the-dark, so I decided to enhance my simple subject of lady with flacon with it. I might have looked first what colour it had because I tracked down fragrant tuberosa flowers as having the perfect greenish-white colour for the traditional glow-in-the-dark plastic, but it turned out mine is transparent! I “drew” the flowers and swirls on a glass plate and glued them to the painting with clear medium. The canvas is an acrylics pouring on wood. I’ve been enjoying working on those colourful background, even if the uneven surfaces can be tricky. You can see the small cracks of the thick paint layers in some places. The glossy varnish has made some tiny foamy bubbles around the fluorescent filaments and flowers.

Hey so I finished that comic. (Except for the cover. That is still being painted, ha ha ha.) I had/still have no idea what I was/am doing, but it’s done and that’s what matters to me right now.
I know of at least a handful of actual Comic People who follow me - if you guys have any suggestions as to type placement, I’d certainly welcome it.
Edited to add, haha, I will be selling copies at MoCCA. If you can’t make it, but would like a copy, let me know! Message me for details, or wait for my official MoCCA post (:

“Why did you set me on fire?” the knight cried, burning.
And of course there is no easy answer.
You burned her because fire is what you are.
You burned her because your gifts come wreathed in flames, and your heart is an ember, and your breath is a star, and because you loved her and you wanted to give her everything you are.
hey!! i was curious about double majors at sva. are those a thing?
They are not, except you can do both Advertising and Design if you don’t mind a heavy load. You can take a class or two from another major if you have the space in your schedule and clear it with your advisor and the chair of the other department.
Hello! I just wanted to ask you about SVA, if that's okay with you? I went to community college, and I want to finish my bachelor degree at SVA. However, in community college I majored in illustration because there was no Cartooning major. Now that I'm going SVA, i want to go for cartooning. Will it be difficult to change my major? And if I can change my major, will I have to make up extra credits or something like that? Thank you so much!
omfg how long has this been in my inbox, I’m really sorry. Message me again if you’re still like. following this blog and need an answer.

lol there’s a cafe in two locations on campus where you can get burgers and chicken fingers and breakfast and stuff, and you can have a declining balance on your ID card to pay for it or cash. there’s also a lot of cheap places around the dorms too. please don’t disintegrate

Nguyen had been so careful. But those who’d preceded him into this orbit hadn’t been. It had only taken seconds, and one small bit of shrapnel, to leave him breathless.
