A University Don, Professor Maduike Ezeibe of the Michael Okpara University of Agriculture Umudike, Abia State, has claimed his recent therapy for the dreaded Human Immunodeficiency Virus and Acquired Immunodeficiency Syndrome is real and effective. According to Ezeibe, he discovered the therapy when he decided to join the medical world to search for a solution to HIV/AIDS.

His research into the therapy known as ‘Antivirt’ (Anti-Viral Therapy) started in 1994, but he was able to discover the therapy in 2013 when his research was published in the British Journal of Medicine & Medical Research, Ezeibe explained.

Mr Ezeibe says two essential minerals, aluminum silicate and magnesium silicate, used in producing the therapy, are mostly found in Umuahia and parts of Abia State which then gives him an upper hand. It will also make the therapy which he claims would take an average of two or three months to cure cheaper and affordable.

But if fox news did it, I wouldn’t even pay attention. Because I know their stance, so I can infer that their results are likely cherry-picked, or that the data is manipulated somehow.

Like being angry is one thing, but when you are hateful, when you actively root for the harm of others, you lose credit. Because I can’t trust if what your saying is genuine, or malicious. You can be hateful and still be right, of course, but you need to expect that it will invalidate you to people.

Alright, so don’t apologize. But also don’t be surprised when you aren’t taken seriously, because hatred by definition means that you are no longer willing to find common ground with those who do not share your beliefs. That is a bad thing regardless of the beliefs!! If you aren’t interested in trying to reach a mutual understanding with your detractors then all you’re doing is yelling at people for not agreeing with you. That’s not a good thing, society cannot work that way.

So also don’t be surprised when people like me don’t want you to speak for them. Because I don’t hate my oppressors. I understand that like 90% of them were simply born into existing social structures that benefit them in ways that they don’t have the perspective or need to understand. Which is why I find it so important to reach out, to find common ground so that we can walk away with a better understanding of eachother. The vast majority of the hatred we get is based on fear, and you simply cannot strip away fear with hate. You are talking about human beings, rogerian debate is always going to be more effective than any other type.

So yeah, when I see these trends in the movement that is supposed to be improving the lives of and speaking for people like me advocating hate or malice, I argue. Because it isn’t going to help. It’s just going to make life keep suckling for us, except maybe the people who buy into it will have some of their anger meted out. Hooray.

And if you want to call on history in this, I will point out that young people acting out of a hatred for their oppressors without a proper understanding of the ramifications of those actions were directly responsible for world war one.

I guess it hasn’t occurred to some folks that some of us trans kids WERE physically abused for being trans.  My parents tried to beat it out of me in addition to all the emotional and psychological abuse and neglect.  And to be quite honest, the physical abuse was the least painful and easiest to recover from.

It's not like it's a zero sum game here, classifying denying trans kids identities as child abuse doesn't make beating on kids not child abuse, so there's no good argument to be made there.

And the focus on special snowflakeness points to a disdain for expressed individuality which means they have issues with people who complain about being made to conform. Which means they were shouted down at a time when they didn't want to conform and internalized it, explaining why it's such an emotional trigger for them. Just a friendly reminder that the brain of those who have suffered trauma is physically different than a “normal brain”. This is not true. Like maybe you've only met shitty psychologists, and if so I am sorry, or maybe you only pay attention to what the APA says, but I know so many therapists and mental health professionals who are neuroatypical.

I mean, you can't let the mental illness interfere with your degree or academic program, but that's true of any college program.

Seriously. I was scared for years that my add and depression would be an impedament to my career, but nearly every professional I've spoken to on the manner says otherwise. So I guess what I'm getting at is please do not let fear of your neuroatypicality becoming a scandal keep you from pursuing a career in mental health.
