The problem with Ed's speech, blog, statement whatever is that those voting UKIP, don't listen, do n't read, read, don't understand the propositions, statement, positions etc. All they hear is the simplistic soundbites of glib, charismatic pub lawyers like Farage. Ask any UKIP supporter what Farages (UKIP) policies are and they wouldn't have a clue:: incidentally neither does Nigel. So what hope is there for for an election result based on a sound understanding of the problems of today, political, economical, cutural whatever. I really don't know the answers but when potential UKIP voters are asked why, it seems the stock answer is "time for a change" with no real understanding of what the result of that change might be. So how do you get people to listen, more importantly, to understand. .
