Concept for a TV show

Plot: 

A comedy mockumentary TV series in the style of “The Office” and “Parks and Rec”, this time focused on a mid-sized workers compensation law firm. The show humorously follows the attorneys and staff of the firm as they deal with each other, rival law firms, the court, their own clients, and so on.

Main Cast:

1) Colin Mochrie plays the lead senior attorney and the head of the firm. He is an old man trying to stay “hip” with the kids, leading to situations where he ends up embarrassing himself and the others around him.

2) Mayim Bialik plays the second senior attorney of the office. She is recognized as the toughest attorney in the firm and is greatly feared by rival lawyers for her intimidation tactics. 

3) Osric Chau plays an associate attorney who originally wanted to do environmental law, realized he hated it, and switched to workers comp although he’s clearly not passionate about it.

4) Brett Dalton plays an associate attorney who is known in the office for being a “suck-up” due to him intentionally getting close to the senior attorneys to move up in the firm. 

5) Jessica Parker Kennedy plays an associate attorney who just recently passed the bar exam, thus making her the most inexperienced and naive lawyer of the group. 

6) Sufe Bradshaw plays the no-nonsense senior secretary, handling Mayim Bialik and Colin Mochrie’s files. 

7) Emily Kinney plays the overly friendly junior secretary, handling Osric Chau, Brett Dalton, and Jessica Parker Kennedy’s files. 

8) Ben Schwartz plays a jaded paralegal who hates where he is in life since although he got through law school, he’s failed the bar exam four times. 

9) Jacob Batalon plays a paralegal/law clerk who is currently going through law school and joined the firm to gain experience. 

Recurring / Guest Cast:

1) Amy Poehler plays the lead attorney of a rival law firm (the closest the series has to a main antagonist).

2) Kevin Brown plays the overworked head of the law firm’s billing department

3) Constance Wu plays one of the firm’s attorneys from a different branch office.

4) Giorgia Whigham plays the bored receptionist 

5) Patton Oswalt plays a qualified medical evaluator (QME) who is often hired by the firm to evaluate the injured worker

6) Phyllis Smith plays the head of human resources 

7) Mallory Jansen plays an associate attorney in the firm who mainly works off-site, which is why she is only in a recurring / guest capacity.

8) Ryan Stiles plays a senior attorney working from a different branch office (could be from Constance Wu’s office), is Colin Mochrie’s best friend

9) Keith David plays a workers compensation judge who the attorneys deal with constantly

10) Paul Rudd plays an injured worker who is recognized as one of the more difficult applicants to deal with
