Both the curse and the blessing of tumblr is the fact that no one cares about anything posted here: definitely not famous people and definitely not search engines, who avoid this place like the plague.

No brand, public figure, or institution on twitter is above responding to nobodies and blowing them up.

Like really the buzz around tiger king or the reporting on the golden state killer reflect my issue with true crime bc at what point does it stop being about sharing the survivor or victim's story and start becoming like this race to construct the biggest larger than life personality? None of the killers or abusers are that special or interesting or smart, and in every story you'll find someone who knew and told the authorities like they've been taught to and were brushed off at best or harrassed at worse. Like these aren't like supervillains police just do not give a fuck until it's time to save their image lol

the whole narrative around the golden state killer was "well he was a really evil guy but how could we possibly have known it was HIM??"

dude was NEVER a suspect. like wow he notoriously shined a flashlight in his victims' eyes but it literally took one of those ancestry DNA tests from a relative for us to be like "OH maybe it's Known Mean Dude who is a cop?"

My whole thing about GSK is how his evilness and cruelty was used to cover up like genuine incompetence. Even if he's not romanticized or like turned into a meme like Bundy or tiger king, there were instances where the police could have done more than what they did to protect the victims, but that gets glossed over. There was an event for Reagan in a county during one of his stints, and the police did not report or inform the public on any of the attacks so it wouldn't look bad for Reagan.

Bundy probably would've made like a more concise comparison to tiger king bc they're both like elevated bc of their personas. But I was like more so getting at like how true crime does the job of excusing incompetence from the police by saying oh he was just so smart or he was just so evil how could they have known, which I probably didn't express well in the original post

Right now slaughterhouses are contamination hubs for COVID & they’re being forced to stay open and produce animal products that literally no one needs. Workers are dying because the U.S. sucks the meat industry’s dick so hard we can’t let hamburgers go.

Instead we need to subsidize produce growers, plant farmers, people who can provide us all with safe and sustainable food.

Give a shit about slaughterhouse workers and go vegan.

Reason why, based on past and current experiences, I would be the worst main character in a horror movie:

1. One time I was babysitting my siblings and I heard a loud thump so I went up to check on my five year old brother and he was sitting in the middle of his floor. I asked what he was doing and he said “It’ll all be over soon.” so I kissed his head and said goodnight and left.

2. When I was thirteen my door fell off it’s hinges while I was reading in my bed and I found screws and fixed it and never told anyone or thought about it again.

3. I woke up in my backyard with a bible on my chest, brushed myself off, and went and ate some cereal.

4. My sister woke me up terrified and brought me to my older sister who was banging her head on a wall while asleep, I walked her to bed and tucked her in, and none of us said anything about it again.

5. My grandma told me our house was haunted and I said “they seem to be pretty quiet ghosts then.” Right as a cup fell off the counter without anyone near it, I said “that was petty.” And asked my grandma if she wanted to play cards.

6. The heirloom doll that sits in a box under my bed randomly showed up in my windowsill. I figured it was a better spot anyway and left it. It never moved again.

7. I planted some seeds from a box I found in the garage, and the next day all our plants died so I dug them up and put them back, and everything went back to normal.

8. I moved from a room upstairs to one downstairs and my things kept getting thrown into the hall when I wasn’t home, so I stood in the middle of the room and said, “I’m here now. Deal with it.” My stuff never got thrown out after that.

9. My dad told me he’d been hearing strange noises in the living room at night so I moved the bird cage in there and my dad said it stopped that night.

10. I watched a bunch of my books fall off my shelves so I picked up all the fallen ones and gave them to my grandpa and that was the end of it.

in addition to everyone viewing that post through rage-tinted glasses & choosing to outright ignore my response to it, I’ve taken note of a particular phenomenon by which my post (about ideological consistency) is dismissed out of hand based on comments like “op is a radfem” or “op is a terf”

1) do y’all have issues with my feminism? what are those issues & did you assume them or have you seen me exhibit problematic ideals in my writings or actions?

2) how do those issues relate to the post where you felt compelled to drop dismissive comments about my entire ideology based on your personal distaste for my feminist politics?

3) do you think it’s fair to dismiss every aspect of a person’s ideology based on hearsay about a singular aspect of it?

actually i looked through your posts before commenting that you are a terf (which yes, you are one) and while you never said you hate trans people or think they arent real, your ideologies are transmisogynistic and the concept of being trans seems to COMPLETELY fly straight over your head. also your post was just stupid lmfao
