More people need to be watching Marvelโ€™s Cloak & Dagger.

I know Freeform has a track record of stupid soapy teen shows, but C&D is nothing like that. The acting is beautiful, the way present day issues (racism, human trafficking) are portrayed realistically and handled compassionately, the consistent writing in regards to coherent storytelling and character arcs/growth, the beautiful cinematography, itโ€™s all just honest to god perfection in one show and everybody and their mom needs to be watching it.

Okay, but one (1) of the amazing things about Cloak and Dagger is that with the development of their relationship, we get their individual development as well. We see them not only learn how to lean and depend on each other but use what they learn from the other to become a better person.

me when tandy saidย โ€˜do what i doโ€™ and tyrone weakly put his hand up and then they appeared in their costumes and came down the escalator in slow motion:

me when tyrone said waffles or pancakes and held out his hand and tandy hesitated for a second before slowly putting her hand in his and he squeezed her hand back (twice like a heartbeat):ย

I feel so bad for the people Iโ€™ve seen call 2x06 โ€œboring.โ€ Like?

Complex storylines that arenโ€™t just slapped on a page? Characters going through multiple scenarios that cause them pain but still trying to break through it? A villain who uses his powers to take away all hopes and positivity from his victims?

Cinematography that urges you to THINK instead of just mindlessly watch the screen? I think there was talk about how โ€œboringโ€ C&D was last year as well, and itโ€™s such a rough time to be in when people donโ€™t get the nuance of film making on any and every medium. I appreciate a show that has me hooked from its opening scene and makes me question whatโ€™s happening. I donโ€™t want to be able to predict a storyline before it happens. Itโ€™s fun every now and again, especially if you can with a show like this, but just being able to know whatโ€™s happening every minute? Nah, you can keep it.

ICONIC

I was gonna put this in my queue but tbh I think itโ€™s more relevant right now.

Yeah.

For the record: George wasnโ€™t saying โ€œI wouldโ€™ve purposefully let you die on the operating table.โ€ He was one of the few doctors willing to perform the surgery, but was nowhere close to qualified to do it alone. He was still an intern in the surgical program, and inexperienced in the procedure.

Dr. Bailey was his teacher, and one of the most well trained general surgeons there. She was disgusted with the patient, for his behavior to both the non-white staff, but also the women. When the patients vitals started going south, she pushed George out of the way and completed the surgery, despite the hate.

Without Dr Bailey sacrificing her personal reservations, the patient wouldโ€™ve died. She is a strong black woman who didnโ€™t hesitate to save this patients life, as she believes in doing no harm, even when the patient doesnโ€™t deserve her assistance.

George is only ensuring that the patient is aware of just how lucky he is that a woman like Miranda Bailey was there, especially when he specified he only wanted a white man to help him.

Heโ€™s trying to say โ€œconsider yourself lucky she was there, or else you wouldnโ€™t be aliveโ€ not โ€œI wouldโ€™ve killed you and felt no remorse.โ€

^^^THANK YOU!! For all the people like โ€œdoctorโ€™s take an oath blah blah blahโ€ thats not what he was saying๐Ÿ™„

That context is really helpful! I always thought he was low-key saying he wouldโ€™ve let him die on the table lmao
