It was the night of the Avengers Party.
You had been convinced to come by Natasha, even though you protested, saying that you weren’t an Avenger and only a S.H.I.E.L.D agent but she persisted, and now you were here, watching amusedly as everyone tried to pick up Mjolnir.
“(Y/n), what about you?”
You held up your hands in protest.
“If Captain Frickin’ America can’t do it then I don’t really think I can.”
“No, babe, come on!” Natasha whined gently, motioning her head towards it. “This is your chance to show everybody up.”
You laughed a little and stood up, walking towards the table and looking at the hammer in disdain. “Here goes.” You muttered under your breath.
Your fingers closed around the leathery handle and you pulled, lifting your arms upward.
Mjolnir was lifted with them.
Everybody stared in shock at you, and you shifted it gently from hand to hand.
“And here I thought that the hammer was a symbol of masculinity.” you joked lightly.
Natasha stared at you with a huge smile on her face.
“I knew you had it in you,” she took a long sip of beer, the amusement on her face from looking at the rest of the Avengers clear.
Thor looked like he was in a bad dream, Steve was trying not to laugh, Helen, Natasha and Maria were all clearly delighted, and everyone else was still in shock.
You handed Mjolnir to Thor, a cheeky smile playing at your lips.
“If you ever need a hand with that, call me.”
