2018 was a rollar coaster, annon hate on Soukoku, but Soukoku still going strong, BSD season three, Dead Apple having a huge success, tons of blogs going missing (including mine) because of the GDPR update, manga timeline being darker than anything etc etc. Not to mention the amount of warm hearted souls I have meet and continue to bond over since 2017.
So I would like to not only thank the god but also jesus. Jk jk thank you @aja154ever @karkey @boo-boo-the-absolute-fool @no-longer-tainted @oh-tetrabiblos @iiinuuu @chrissyneko @daughterofsinsloth @soukokucchi @dazai-is-daddy @mizurinskk @salta-mandlar @wolfie8pie @ughchibi @hypermoyashi and more peeps that I can’t seem to remember for making 2018 brighter and supporting BSD and the boys :’) Thank you for existing and hopefully because of the article 13 half of the blogs on this fandom won’t go poof as well as everyone will continue to love BSD and Soukoku uwu
According to the information that’s been given to us so far, when Chuuya uses corruption he will destroy everything in front of him until his own body perishes and he has no control over this whatsoever.
But in Dead Apple, when Chuuya finally enters the dragon after killing it, he punches Dazai once, then stops; no more punches, no further attacks, just the single, delicate punch, and then he’s able to restrain himself until Dazai nullifies corruption.
And I say delicate punch and mean it literally because I’m sure Chuuya is strong enough to be capable of killing Dazai (or anybody, really) with a single punch, especially in his corrupted form. So despite being unable to control his ability in that state, he managed to throw a single punch gentle enough to not brutally murder Dazai.
It’s been said before both in canon and by the entire fandom that the trust they have in each other is immense and that they know each other like the back of their own hands, and “Chuuya used corruption because he trusted Dazai.”
But once you take into consideration that Chuuya was able to quell his blind murderous intent because it was Dazai on the receiving end, something that he’s apparently never been able to do before, it truly puts into perspective the extent of that trust.
Dazai put himself in that situation not just because he believed that Chuuya would come save him but also because he trusted that Chuuya would be capable of achieving that little bit of self-control, and Chuuya went in to save him trusting himself to be able to do just that.
And you can argue all you want that Chuuya punched Dazai because he knew he’d put the antidote in his mouth, or Dazai put the antidote in his mouth because he knew Chuuya would punch him in the face, but it all truly boils down to: what if Chuuya couldn’t control “For the Tainted Sorrow?” Because then it wouldn’t matter where the antidote was because Dazai would be dead and Chuuya would soon follow.
In celebration of getting season 3 by the end of this year, lemme share my feelings about my favourite babies again.
STOMBRINGER - To be released March, 2021
The story will take place in Yokohama 1 year after the story in “Fifteen”. Chuuya is now 16 years old. The truth about his past and his secrets will now be revealed.
