THERE'S SO MUCH SUN AND MOON ART ON THIS APP IT'S ALL SO CREATIVE AND DIVERSE AND BEAUTIFUL I LOVE THIS FANDOM I LOVE THIS FANDOM I LOVE THIS FANDOM
Yeah, the DCA fandom's like-to-reblog ratio is pretty bad, especially for less polished art. At the same time, it's genuinely a lovely community. People send each other asks, they make art for so many AUs, and there's a deep sense of connection as so many are passionate for these celestial jesters. So I just want to emphasize that before I talk about the ratio.
ID: Tumblr tags from the user @just-a-drawing-bean that say: I've never been on tumblr before dca. So I don't know what's normal. I reblog a lot. And I feel like the ratio is fine. But idk. End ID
However, this is a site-wide issue going on for years. And it's not just because of a cultural shift. Tumblr is a shadow of its former userbase, so it makes sense there won't be as many notes. But at the same time, reblogging art is how things stay in circulation or gain traction. So smaller artists can straight up drown, because the uneven ratio is not in their favor. When a smaller artist averages 10 notes, and 2 of those are reblogs, the post will die quickly. That's why I'd love to improve it.
In a Magma, one person named Clockwork pointed out that while the DCA fandom is so lovely and connected, people TALK to each other, and many seem to be friends, it's mainly for bigger blogs. That's why I'd love to support and focusing on reblogging the art of new people. Host magmas where big and small artists can draw together, etcetera. Just so it's easier for new artists and fans to get to know new people while they're posting their art. Fandom is communal, and I don't want new artists' only experience of it is working hard on art and then getting no notes. it's a complicated issue, but I'm thinking of joining #Gallery23. Making sideblogs for Mer Aus, promoting smaller artists, and also celebrating the compliments fans leave in the tags.
That's why I'd love for DCA fans and artists to chime in to see if they're interested. And if they're willing to write IDs for their art, because that'd make it so much easier for me, as someone who strives to keep their blog accessible
peeling those sour rainbow gummy strips into long thin strings and putting them into cheap energy drink to create something im calling battery acid spaghetti will update once ive finished it
dont do this
I really hope its not too bad bc i actually love both components.
it forms a dry skin at the top made of the sour pellets. not a great start.
tastes really good actually. i also feel like i am about to explode.
do not do this.
Unanimous consensus: Do not do this
Other people: Hold on I’m about to do this
This will make more sense when I post Sun and Moon’s designs 👀 in this AU surprise! Eclipse is your half-mer kid!
there needs to be an easier way to convey the idea of "it's absolutely fine that you don't like this thing I like, and I don't even necessarily disagree with your reasons for disliking it, but I am sick to death of hearing your negative opinions about it."
op what you just said is 1000% perfect that’s exactly how you say it
i feel i should be allowed to veto any popular blog that's about to reblog any of my posts, i should get a notification, check their follower list, and then pass or veto it. this would only come into play very little but it would vastly improve my blogging experience but when it does
wait, @cryptotheism is considered popular? I saw them and just thought it was like, a guy?
How do I even come back from this
Death Grips is online
update: the concert has happened and someone posted a livestream, saving the subreddit. however
there is no easter bunny. there is no tooth fairy. and there is no python script to ban everyone from /r/deathgrips
Combining games hehehe
I present to you, Ink Sun and Ink Moon!
