1. Chrysotile

aka Asbestos! It heals lung cancer! heals it from 0HP to full health! it causes cancer do not touch do not lick

okay but this is a cool danger rock, it’s a physical carcinogen. As in, it doesn’t poison you into having cancer, it just has little needle-y bits that LITERALLY STIR UP your DNA and break it, and when the cells try to repair their DNA they get it wrong and you get cancer

2. Torbenite

A super pretty danger rock! it’s a uranium ore and releases radon gas for Extra Poison!

3. Hutchinsonite - (Tl,Pb)2As5S9

This danger rock has it all! Lead! arsenic! Thallium! All super toxic! Will legit kill you

seriously don’t lick this one, i’m looking at you, fellow geologists

thallium doesn’t taste like anything so you’re not even getting data, just poisoned

4. Cinnabar (Mercury sulfide)

Can be a very pretty red color! so it was used to make paint. The paint was super toxic.

In addition to being dangerous to your health, it’s also morally dangerous! someone had to mine it (v dangerous) so even owning it feels unethical

5. Stibnite (Antimony sulfide)

people used to make spoons and makeup and shit out of this, the spoons poisoned people who ate with them. It’s kinda pretty but not worth dying over

6. Orpiment  (an arsenic sulfide)

Look how pretty it is!!

“Incorrect handling” WILL poison you, that’s fucking arsenic

Malachite, if eaten or… you know ;) (warning: nsfw, THat Post) Galena (lead sulfide), don’t eat it or break the rock and you’ll probably be ok, the dust is the main danger

The sun hasn’t quite risen. The sky is periwinkle and the trees look like splotches of ink in the distance. Katniss sits on the porch with a mug of tea clutched in her hands. The steam rises and soaks in her skin, warm and fragrant. She listens to the quiet thuds of Peeta’s fists hitting his burlap sack in the shed. 

Lady bleats across the lawn, the chickens slowly begin pecking around the yard. The world wakes up around her. 

Buttery sunlight is just starting to crest the horizon when he finally steps out of the little shack. She should be used to it by now but the sight of his marred skin makes her suck air into her lungs. He clutches the doorframe above him and smiles at her from across the yard. His lip still oozes a little blood, he licks it away. 

“That bad?”

Sad update everyone, Tama recently passed away… An estimated 3,000 people, including railway officials, attended Tama the cat’s funeral on Sunday, days after she died of heart failure aged 16. [x]

For those who haven’t read articles about it, the local shrine elevated her to a god. She’s now the Eternal Stationmaster and patron god of the station.

yep! her name is Nitama (essentially ”second tama” or “tama II”) and she served under Tama as an apprentice before being appointed her deputy

Nitama, already now a mature cat (born 2010), has a protege named Yontama (fourth Tama, b. 2016).  There is no information available for either the physical befellment or tragic self-disgrace which has removed Santama from contention.

It’s looking like the Humans Are Weird anthology may not make it out of the starting gate, due to a lack of entries that fit the theme.

Feel free to prove me wrong, of course.  Submissions are open through the rest of June. 

My only goal at this point is to avoid the “But I would have submitted if I’d known!” conversation in July.  I’ve tried to reach the right crowds, but… *throws hands in the air* …tell your friends.

Now back to your regularly scheduled 2020.  I’m going to do something fun, like write about alien taxi drivers.  

I absolutely didn’t know about this, so boosting!
