I am so excited to share my TARGET Wondershop Gift Wrap collection with the world! Including gift bags, wrapping papers, gift boxes, greeting cards, and an ornament! .It really was such a wonderful experience working with the amazing folks at Target who were so loving and supportive of my vision of Christmas.

The collections visuals hark back to a charming vintage German Wunderland filled with traditional tales of Santa and Krampus, dazzling nutcrackers, famous baked goods, wooden toys, and my babies Socks and Jessie! Inspired by my family, each piece tells a personal story of what the holiday means to me, sprinkled with cameos of my friends and loved ones. .I hope they fill your festive holidays with love and joy and inspire you to be merry and gay!

Friends of Dorothy

A "Friend of Dorothy" is any LGBTQ+ person. 🌈🌪✨ The phrase dates back to at least World War II, when homosexual acts were illegal in the United States. Stating that, or asking if, someone was a friend of Dorothy was coded language used to find other members of the LGBTQ+ community discreetly, and safely. Whatever its origins, “friend of Dorothy” illustrates several of the most important functions of folklore that serve members of the LGBTQ+ community. The phrase helped to maintain the stability, solidarity, cohesiveness, and identity of the group within the larger culture at a time when those qualities were much needed.

The NAMES AIDS Memorial Quilt

The AIDS Memorial Quilt honors more than 92,000 individuals who died of the AIDS epidemic of the 80s + 90s. Invoking symbols of pride, sorrow, power, and remembrance, I wanted to pay my respect with my own panel and shine light on a memorial not many people remember.

HIV/AIDS spread like a wildfire within the LGBTQ+ community throughout the 80s and in 1985, the AIDS Memorial Quilt was conceived by AIDS activist Cleve Jones. By 1992 – when the AIDS-related deaths in the U.S. had passed 250,00 - the AIDS Memorial Quilt had panels from every U.S. state and 28 countries. By 1996 - during which time the deaths had ballooned to over 580,000 - the number of panels had grown to such an extent as to cover the entire breadth of the National Mall. Today it is remembered as the largest, single display of the AIDS Memorial Quilt. Our history is important, and I wanted to shine some light on one of the darkest moments our community went through and remember those who we lost, thank those who helped fight, and honor all who lived through such horror.

To quote one of the panels “I CAN’T FORGET. NOT EVEN IF I TRY”

The Pink Triangle 🔻

Before the pink triangle became a worldwide symbol of gay power and pride, it was intended as a badge of shame. In Nazi Germany, a downward-pointing pink triangle was sewn onto the shirts of gay men in concentration camps—to identify and further dehumanize them. It wasn’t until the 1970s that activists would reclaim the symbol as one of liberation. Although the pink triangle has been reclaimed as an empowering symbol, it is ultimately a reminder to never forget the past—and to recognize the persecution LGBTQ+ people still face around the world.
