Spock Shock is a term that describes a fan’s infatuation with the Star Trek: The Original Series character Spock. It was first used in print in 1967 in the zine Spockanalia where it was part of its You are Receiving this Zine Because section as well as the name of the included short convention skit by Sherna Comerford, one that was later performed at the very first Star Trek convention, Star Trek Con in March 1969. tumblr allows you 5 minutes so I really had to choose carefully and edit it all down, but here is the O'brien and Bashir annoyed coworkers to best freinds evolution through the first 4 seasons
Is it an anxiety problem if 90% of your “bad feelings” turn out to have merit
Thankfully for Bones, he also has a CO ready and willing to validate those bad feelings by creating problems out of thin air.
Okay, this might be a more accurate representation of the inside of Bones’ brain.
Dayoun server discourse led us here
you come into MY house, you call Miles Edward O’Brien, the most important person in Starfleet history, “just some guy”
is vorta bathwater a lucrative market? asking for a friend
(ID - an image of quark from Star Trek deep space nine. He leans forward conspiratorially, there is a speech bubble drawn above him to make it look like he’s saying the above ask. End ID)
crewmembers while kirk and spock are having yet another repressed domestic on the enterprise:
if there’s one thing i’ve gleaned from watching star trek, it’s that everything in modern media is a star trek reference, except star trek, which is mostly shakespeare
Love that Kira's boyfriends were literally Almost The Pope and The Actual President but nobody remembers either of them
These redesigns are too much fun. I already did some art with the klingon design, but here’s a full color thing.
Klingons: A race of large obligate carnivores, with a famously honor-based warrior culture. Their large mandibles can inflict brutal damage in combat and a variety of sounds for communication. The loud snap of annoyance is well known to all who have worked with them ((less familiar but delightful is their tendency to “purr” when content)).
Ferengi: The unceasing rains and forests of Ferenginar molded a crafty and adaptable species of insectivorous endotherms. Their flying isn’t particularly elegant, more like gliding than true flight, but their wings pack a surprisingly strong punch. They have excellent hearing but poor eyesight, making particularly bright colors a favorite on the clothes of the fashion-forward.
Betazoids: A highly telepathically gifted race of facultative herbivores. They are known to be a generally pleasant people, if not slightly blunt in their remarks. Until recently their society was strongly matriarchal, with family units formed by a group of related females and the leading female’s chosen mate. Modern sensibilities allow for wider selection of living arrangements.
