As someone who is studying history with a big interest in 1940-1980, it is insane to see the crack down on the college protests. History does nothing but repeat itself. It happened with protests against segregation, against the Vietnam War, against the Iraq war… and how we view it looking back is always the same. People always ask why studying history is important. This is exactly why.
sorry i am still thinking about hozier, specifically this smile and hair flip. seeing him in concert has reawakened something in me, i fear. ok bye!!!!
$50,000 immediately dropped into my bank account wouldn't improve EVERYTHING but boy it sure would be a grand, sexy little start to a good, happy life path, don't you think

Pedro Pascal is seen on the set of the "Materialists" in Brooklyn on April 29, 2024 in New York City
half the men yall call daddy can't even put air in a tire. yeah he can pull your hair but can he chop an onion? no he cannot.
I taught my friend how to chop an onion bc no one taught him how to cook (guy in a conservative Christian family). He was so excited to be cooking for the first time so I made him chop the onion bc I hate doing it. And suddenly he starts yelling “MY EYES ARE WATERING!!!! ITS ACTUALLY HAPPENING!!!”. He was so fucking excited but I had to stop him bc he couldn’t see but was still chopping.
saw hozier last night for the first time. as expected he is fantastic live and has the voice of an angel. misc thoughts and observations:
- someone had a sign that said “can you give us a yeehaw” and he gave us the most hesitant, quiet “yeehaw” then said “is that cultural appropriation?”
- the crowd was very loud and responsive and he later said something to the effect of “you guys are really on your yeehaw juice” 🤠🧃
- right before singing nina cried power he spoke very eloquently about the power of protest wrt calling for ceasefire/divestment, trans rights, and reproductive rights and it was very heartening to hear the crowd cheer loudly in support ❤️ (i feel he has probably heard about the protests at UT austin (my alma mater!) and made it a point to speak about this on his first stop in texas. love that.)
- i saw a number of knockoff hozier shirts featuring characters such as aragorn, sirius black, and inigo montoya. 10/10 no notes.
- towards the end of the set he took his hair out of his bun and ran his hand through his beautiful wavy locks and the girl beside me SCREECHED (big mood tbh. i am not immune to tall men with beautiful hair.)
