I was bored so anyway happy birthday Nanami Kento²
so i know it’s common in irondad fics for tony to initially deny his parental feelings for peter, but also it’s kinda funny because in homecoming tony explicitly mentions his father twice while talking to peter. this man is not in denial, he’s already peter’s dad
(don’t take this as hate towards you guys though, i get where you come from)
I know it’s a reach but maybe why Loid tolerates Yor’s cooking here is because who knows he what had to eat to survive during that time from losing his mother to joining the military
I want everyone to see malewife Loid in his cute apron
people calling all types of anime men malewives simply because they like them but loid forger can literally do the cleaning, cooking, sewing, washing and raising kids all while being a secret spy saving the world AND a doting husband to his fake wife.
Wait wait wait. People can just. CHOOSE to focus???? And it works???????
I just rewatched the Cars franchise (yes, ig also due to the new show) and wow (Owen Wilson’s “wow”), one of the most hilarious character traits of Lightning McQueen that I realized is that he’s so SO childish. This dumbass literally dreams about being some wierd meta flying (cars universe-)alien fighting machine once Dinoco sponsors him. Pouts when he’s upset. Hellbent on doing the things he loves (i.e. racing). Extremely competitive. Gets a nightmare about frank demolishing his race and that’s enough to get him “I NeED tO GeT oUTtA hErE!”. Literally had no shame at all saying ‘I love you’ to Sally (cars 2), Mater (Cars on the road) and (I’m sure) to eVerYOnE in Radiator Springs. “MaTeR, YoU ArE ThE BOoMB!”. Surrounded by obviously new gen racers and still races. Dances in the middle of nowhere just to get his mentee to come with him. Loves dinosaurs. “Oh, Let’s scare those folks of my mountain!” Lightning *scared 0.001 seconds ago*: YES COUNT ME IN!. Literaly could be excited about anything except clowns.
and HE’S confused by Mater…

Allow me to add to the pot here of Big Kid McQueen:
-Immidiately falls for Sally in the courthouse in 0.001 seconds even though he does not know her, and then attempts to impress her like he’s All That (which fails miserably lol)
-Whines about having to do the hard work of pulling Bessie, and then basically takes his first ticket to getting out of it
-Begins talking to himself and Bessie when he does have to do the work
-Insults, just, insults. “turn right to go left, yes! THANK you! Because in opposite world, maybe that really means THANK YOU!” *pouts and drives away*
-Acts all cool and macho until faced with a challenge that is not as he anticipated (see also: “You know who you’re talking to this is Lightning McQueen, I can handle anything.” *Immediately can’t*)
-Literally on that same note, he thinks something is cool until it is not cool anymore, see also basically EVERY EVENT of Cars 3 (wow look at that simulator- awww it’s no good- wow look at that beach- awww it’s no good- wow look at that racetrack- aWwW-)
-You mentioned the dance already but also, you know he took time to write that apology song for Cruz. You know he did.
-He hummed the truck song in the end askldndidkspwjfif
He is literally just a big kid :’)

Sally Carrera voiced by Bonnie Hunt CARS FRANCHISE (2006-2017)
the only thing I don't like about Cars is that Lightning is always wrong and everyone else around him always has to teach him a lesson
there's so many times he doesn't want to do something Mater wants to do and it always ends up that Mater gets Lightning to do it and Lightning is selfish for not just doing it in the first place
one thing I LOVE about the final fight of silver and daniel is that people in universe don’t really see daniel as quote on quote, badass. he is a sensei, a two time valley champion but people don’t really refer to him as a badass (ironically the only one who does is anthony in the first seasons basically saying my dad knows karate and he can kill you, love that for him), but now everyone saw that he is a great fighter. that he is badass. that for a reason he is a two time champ. and i been dying for people to really see him as such. it’sn ot the most important but it’s something every other sensei on screen had a moment to show their strength to the younger generation but never daniel. and he did that.
Cobra Kai has an issue with fathers. Specifically fathers parenting sons. The only one in the show who we consistently see parenting his own children is Daniel, and for no reason other than plot, he has a very loving, supporting relationship with his daughter and surrogate son Robby but turns into a dismissive asshole around his son Anthony.
Johnny's relationship with Robby is abuse through neglect; he's consistently failed to show up for him in every way. He's ignored that the mother of his child is an addict, probably because he himself is one, and contributed nothing financially or emotionally.
Miguel's father is apparently an active threat to Miguel's safety.
We know Johnny's father figures, be they Sid or Kreese, certainly are.
And yet, the show unironically indulges in the hallowed figure of the biological father.
You know what would have made emotional sense after the S4 All Valley for Robby to do? When he's come to the realisation that even when you take someone under your wing with the best of intentions and effort, you might still screw up?
Go back to Mr. LaRusso. Mr. LaRusso, who screwed up and apologised. Who kept reaching out, without blaming him, yet tried to protect him even when he didn't want protection. Mr. LaRusso, who paid for his mother's rehab, offered him a home, encouraged him, thanked him, called him family. Who is financially and emotionally stable, unless the writers want to create unnecessary drama to heighten the plot.
Instead he reaches out to Johnny, who is not emotionally equipped to handle his problems. That's why fathers walk out in the first place. They're incapable of handling the emotional load of the relationship they're in. You know? Same as they made Miguel do. His relationship with Johnny gets so painful and complicated that he bails.
And we know Johnny may want to have a father-son relationship with Robby but he has the emotional maturity of an 18-year-old. Yeah, he's learning. But he can't take care of Robby. The reason he can mentor Miguel is that Miguel has a solid emotional base in his mother and grandmother. (The only reason why a woman like Carmen would date him is that she wants to keep an eye on this man that her son is spending so much time with. He can't even get it up.) And he acts like an 18-year old, dragging Robby on a wild goose chase to Mexico. And that is in character for him, so I don't blame the writers, but why put Robby in that situation in the first place? Because they know that stuff like this will happen. Likely from bitter experience.
And you know how I know?
Johnny's whole arc with Kreese.
Kreese is what happens, not when an abusive father leaves a son, but when a son leaves an abusive father, whom he loves.
"Why would you let him back into your life?"
Because before sweep the leg
Kreese was his Dad.
A cruel one. One whose love was purely conditional. But if Johnny worked hard, and did as he was told, and put up with all the hurt -
He could win a smile from him. He could make him proud. He could keep his attention. He could be enough.
And then to find out that for all your devotion, your suffering, your hard work, he would still hurt you. And if you failed... he'd kill you. That you'd have to leave him to ensure your own survival.
I deeply feel for Johnny. That betrayal, that attempted murder, that froze him.
And you hope, don't you? That one day, the man magically comes to a realisation. That he was wrong. That he will apologise. Make amends.
And the absolute insight is that Kreese knows that this is what Johnny wanted all along. And that he could have come back at any time. He knows the fantasy that this time, it will be right, and he plays that to a T, like abusive parents do -
When they want something from you. When you have something for them. It doesn't last. They'll worm their way back in until they can hurt you. Oh, they might actually want the relationship too, the love and camaraderie, but they want the power more.
Of course Johnny fell for the prodigal Dad act. It's what abused children lap up. Because Johnny had nothing to compare it to. And apparently the writers have this same old wound - what if my real Dad will make everything better one day? What if he will magically change?
Even though they know he won't...?
Why make your characters chase that farce?
Do you know what Robby needs now?
This:
And even more than Johnny, he needs this:
Because realistically, Mr. LaRusso is his best shot at a stable life.
And that's a great story to tell.
Bring him home, Cobra Kai. Robby needs it.
