Australian actor and Hollywood star Jai Courtney is set to host Channel 9’s new adventure program, The Summit.
Courtney, known for his roles in The Suicide Squad, Terminator Genisys, and The Divergent Series, is one of Australia’s most versatile actors, with a career spanning more than 15 years. He was recently seen in the action thriller series The Terminal List alongside Chris Pratt.
The Summit, set in New Zealand’s South Island, is an epic action-adventure series that takes place in one of the most beautiful locations on Earth, and serves as the backdrop for some of the world’s biggest movie franchises.
The show will see Courtney lead 14 strangers on a journey to reach the peak of a distant mountain in just 14 days, with each contestant carrying an equal share of one million dollars in their backpacks. The team will have to work together to overcome dangerous terrain, wild weather conditions, and adrenaline-charged challenges blocking their path to the mountain’s summit.
Morals will be tested, physical limits will be pushed, and bonds will be broken in this marathon of endurance, survival, and greed. The ultimate prize is a massive amount of cash, and only those who reach the summit in time will have a chance to claim it.
The Summit is a prime-time event series produced by Endemol Shine Australia, a Banijay company, and is set to be filled with cliff-hangers.
