it’s cool and fun and special that you can usually do whatever you put your mind to. if you want to be well read know the history of architecture learn to play the piano write consistently sew your own clothes run better speak a foreign language fluently all you have to do is apply curiosity and patience and determination, learn in a way that most makes sense to you, and one day you too will have absorbed the skills necessary to be good at something you once merely envied

i thought my suicidal late teens were the hardest years of my life but nothing could’ve prepared me for my 20s waking up everyday with no purpose, feeling so lost, unable to keep up with friendships, watching everyone move on with relationships and careers and being unable to catch up. and I’m such a “life is not a race” type of person but damn I’m losing so hard rn

seeing this resonating with so many of you is actually kinda comforting. here’s a hopeful quote from Tennessee Williams “Something in me will save me from utter ruin no matter what comes.”

Pretty sure that only Brits of a certain age will get this one. I’ve been laughing for about an hour now.

if i could stop time forever at one point it'd be on an autumn evening after rain when the fallen leaves and waterlogged pathways are wet and glossy and shining in the orange sodium glow of the street lamps and the dying rays of the setting sun and the air smells sweet with damp, decaying vegetation and there's a noticeable but pleasant chill in the air

i hate hate hate that the “NINEteenth century” is talking about the EIGHTEEN hundreds. i know why this happens mathematically and stuff. but isn’t it just so fucked up? doesn’t it feel so wrong? dont you have to fight with your brain to reconcile the difference? is this not a sign of humanity’s eternal despair?

this isn’t a new or hot take or anything but the current trend of people just recording strangers in public is so fucking annoying and low key terrifying. the fact that someone can decide that i’m moving weird at the grocery store and record a video of me and get it reposted by barstool sports or whatever on tiktok makes me want to maul someone
