no idea whats happening with artfight (kind of? i know a bit but… its given me a headache so im ignoring it) but i am just

going to go back to animating this revenge

something is up with artfight?

tl;dr staff mass quit bc they were not paid

what the fuck?

QUICK CORRECTION-

the mods are volunteers, they weren’t paid nor did they ask for pay

what they’re upset about is that Takaia is pocketing all the donation money rather than using it to update and improve the site, plus a lack of communication on getting things done yet refusing to let more mods/staff pitch in, so they’re quitting as protest. the moderators want the event to keep going for the sake of the participants, but ArtFight’s future is dubious unless Takaia cleans up their act.

Neither femme nor masc but a third more wicked thing....... Boring

yes, our prices are higher than you would find in fast fashion. i'd just like to preface that the following doesn't come from a place of anger or anything like that, i just want to provide some education.

our prices are higher because we are a small business working on a small scale and because we use a factory that has extensive certifications that ensure both ethical labor practices and the usage of high quality materials, i.e. materials that are not hazardous.

this includes certifications up the supply chain, which is extremely difficult and costly to do, as things like dyes and fixings (buttons, zippers, etc) are some of the most difficult to track and some of the most likely to be made with hazardous chemicals or with unethical labor.

fast fashion prices come with bad labor practices (sweatshops, labor camps, etc) and often use materials that are harmful to humans (lead, PFAS, formaldehyde, etc) and those chemicals are still present when you receive and wear those garments.

all clothing is made by humans. cheap clothing comes with a price. it's just not one you know you're paying. and that's normal because the companies that use these practices do not want you to know.

I'd so like to point out Maya's skirts are great quality! Fast fashion breaks down SO quickly, whereas I've had Maya's skirts for years and they still look brand new

aw thank you i’m so happy to hear it 🥰🥰

this is so nostalgic. tumblr rolls out something terrible. everyone complains. it breaks several people's dashboards. for some reason it only rolls out to a few people at a time with seemingly no warning. the community collectively and immediately searches for a browser extension that undoes the change. i know we've all gotten burnt out on all social media sucking but this is genuinely The tumblr experience. everyone who hasn't gotten it already gets an achievement. welcome to the club

actually, im glad this post got notes

everybody in the notes going "but THIS TIME it's an objectively terrible choice/a bigger deal/a cash grab!!": first time in the clown car huh

Being overstimulated is such a weird thing to explain to people. Like “hey sorry, I’m not mad at you and this is nobody’s fault and I’m not blaming anyone for it happening, I am aware this is a part of regular everyday life but I am mentally crumbling because There Have Been Things Happening nonstop for 5 hours straight back to back with no breaks, and I really need to sit down in complete silence for like 15-25 minutes, after which I will be completely fine and can proceed as normal. But if I’m not allowed to have that, I will resort to violence.”

The people who wrote this law should be in jail. The people at Facebook who shared private information should be in jail (and yeah, they should have known Facebook isn’t private, but that’s beside the point). A 19 year old who made a choice about her own body doesn’t belong in jail.

When I say Meta (Threads, FB, Insta) is not your friend I Fucking Mean It.

sometimes you just gotta listen to music at a volume that you know will be part of the cause of your hearing loss at the age of 28

hey yall. im 25 now and i already have tinnitus <3 dont do this. LOL

oh btw for those saying “i already have tinnitus haha it cant get worse” YEAH IT CAN BITCH! if you want to listen to music loud do it on speakers at least. headphones will Beam Pain Waves Directly Into Your Cochlear Hair Cells and a 10kHz Tone Loud Enough Will Give You Psychic Damage Forever

if i have to fucken, translate it to something you’ll understand? Imagine theres a picture of garfield here saying

YOU ARE NOT IMMUNE TO HEARING LOSS

the saddest sight in the world is a married couple at a musical and the wife is super excited and happy and the husband looks like he was dragged along and he’s making a big deal about how much he doesn’t want to be there and the wife gets embarrassed or ashamed. this isn’t a funny post, it’s actually heartbreaking and i see it happen at like every other musical i attend.

Yeah, as an usher what makes me sad is when I see wives clearly dressed in their Sunday best, beaming and buying merch and smiling at me as I hand them a program, toting some guy dressed in jeans and a sweatshirt who declines a program. And that’s at least a quarter of the couples who come in or more. Like come on man, she really loves this stuff, can’t you try to enjoy it for her at least?

About as bad as when you see a big-eyed kid who looks like this is the greatest day of their life, all excited to see this show, and their parent/grandparent/aunt/Cousin/Friend/whoever they convinced to take them keeps making fun of them and saying how dumb or ridiculous they’re being. For Gods sake, this is a person you care about and this is a thing that means a lot to them. Smile, get off your phone, and be happy for them.
