It's in human nature that, if you have a fruit tree or vegetable garden, that as long as there's enough food for you, whatever the insects and birds take is their share, and that if there's any left over after that, you put it in a cardboard box that says "please take some!" to share with neighbours and strangers. Bli has a secret division dedicated to trying to control the magic of the zones, especially deities like the Witch and trying to find a way to stop DESTROYA. They've actually had some success, using science and magic to make soul powered electronics, and were able to delay DESTROYAs return

Yeah, why would they waste that much power? My theory is that DESTROYA has a pretty much unlimited battery, I'm not sure how they figured it out or how it works, but they managed to pretty much blend a bunch of souls together and solidify it inside the robot shell.
The main goal was to scrub away all the personality of the souls, as a single willful soul can cause a lot of problems, let alone a small army of dead killjoys and rebels, and they only partly succeeded. Souls that are completely wiped will fade away without a cause or pure will keeping them alive, so they took away as much as they could without destroying it. But the blending of them just made them form into a larger, single soul, with the strongest parts of the people in it combining, making DESTROYA sentient, basically creating and entirely new conscious.

@captainperoxide and I were having a Metal Gear Solid conversation (this happens daily, don't worry) and I showed her the Traffic Report meme (keep your boots toots kids) and she was like "it went all Costa Rica? All I know about Costa Rica is Metal Gear Peace Walker". And then we were like wait. War. Nukes. Giants robots. Unhinged el Gee bee teas ™️.
Danger Days is the timeline split where the nukes were fired and couldn't be stopped. The Helium Wars never happened, or at least weren't actually about helium. That's why things go "all Costa Rica." DESTROYA is another metal gear.
