So often I forget that finding my way back to love will take time. Healing will take time. I expect myself to change thought patterns and behavioural patterns immediately. This is not possible. It will take time and I deserve to take that time.
after a long period of pain and suffering, you might actually find out you’re scared of feeling joyful again. i just wanna remind you that’s something that happens to a lot of people & while it’s tempting to resist happiness because you’re so used to being sad, you really don’t have to. maybe you’re scared it’s not gonna last and you’ll come crashing down the minute it ends, but you don’t have to jump into the feeling all at once. take the small and the big joys as they come. you deserve them!
this is your reminder to start slow and gradually lean into consistency rather than to change your entire routine one fine day. it's okay to start wherever and whenever you feel ready. please don't compare yourself to the highlight reel of people on social media. i promise it's never too late to work on your goals. you don't have to make a drastic change just because it's a new year. time is a social construct and i want nothing more than for you to truly enjoy life at present without worrying too much about the future. you are completely able to achieve goals you have set for yourself, but take it step by step. please avoid burnout and please take rest. wishing you all the best!!
