We’ve grown apart
I no longer want
The little universe I’ve built for myself.
Who’s to say that I must stay in what I’ve created
For when an artist paints a masterpiece
He does not sit back and retire
He goes on to create another and another
Continuing to grow and learn.
And that’s who I am
I’m an artist of my future
I may have been painting green meadows and tree landscapes
But who’s to say my time for painting oceans and great waves has not come.
No one can understand my own mind
As I cannot understand it myself
But I just know I must go
To discover a new place and paint a new happiness.
