do u guys ever think about how little lando was starting out his f1 career filled with anxiety and the fear that he could lose it all and that maybe he didn’t deserve to be there and then the very first teammate he was paired with was this older guy who was also figuring himself out but was just a few steps ahead of lando, loosening up and shedding his shyness and really fitting into his seat in f1, really creating an example for the kid and someone to look up to while also maintaining such an honest demeanor with him that they became true friends and bonded so nicely and fell in love that, even amidst all this rising fame and crowds of people and press and PR and races and high stakes, lando could still look over to him and smile like this

and they didn’t know it but eventually time would tell them they’d have to part ways but not entirely, nor for forever, and there was both sadness and happiness because of it.

and then despite it all, racing on different teams, losing all that time they previously were able to have together, their career paths drastically changing— despite it all, lando still looks at carlos with that same smile as before
