I’m reading my baby sister The Mark of Athena right now. And she has absolutely no idea what is in store for Percy and Annabeth at the end of this book. She’s used to the “happy endings” I’ve been feeding her over the past year and a half with Uncle Rick’s books. I will be sure to report her reaction when we have finished.

So… We just finished The Mark of Athena.

As soon as Percy let go of the ledge and he and Annabeth fell into Tartarus, my baby sister screamed “No!”

Big fat crocodile tears were (and still are) rolling down her cheeks.

So we finished chapter 51 where they let go, and she closes her copy of the book and rolls over, burying herself under her blankets and says, “No more… I’m done.”

Me: “What do you mean you’re done??? We still have one more chapter!”

Her: “It’s not worth it anymore!”

Needless to say, I coaxed her to finish the last chapter. And now, she has to wait twelve days (1 day for every month I had to wait) until she can read The House of Hades.

She also went to every awake person in our house and sobbed to them about what happened. Like a true fandom member does. Because it’s exactly what I did to those exact same family members. 😂

Okay so here's my somewhat broken Daycare Attendant theory.

To start this off: Eclipse is Sun AND Moon combined, not a third being. Sun saying 'make us whole ' would literally not make sense if we're actually just... Bringing out an entirely separate personality.

We know from the Sun and Moon plushie descriptions that BOTH Sun and Moon were, in fact, nice and both in control of the daycare with a naptime once upon a time. So Moon isn't just evil for the sake of book lore's theatre performance - Moon is a nice. Perhaps a skrunkly gremlin given his cheeky statue, but the merch all point to him having a soft side too.

I do believe that at some point Sun and Moon had some role in the theatre. The logo, the masks - it points to this. But the theatre is part of the daycare, so it's possible that the theatre was a once a week thing, or had some kind of schedule. After all, the party rooms and the Foxy Cove are a part of it too. But the rooms below the theatre suggest human actors too - so it wasn't like Sun and Moon were vital to the show. Likely after the virus, the theatre was yet another thing shut down, at least to the attendant. Human staff were growing less and less, so boom! Comedy bot. Solves everything.

Now, back to the virus bit - yes, Moon is trying to kill Cassie (and was trying to end Gregory in the base game.) The jumpscare literally shows Sun desperately fighting back as Moon grabs and plunges his hand towards Cassie. He's not 'subduing' her. He's killing her.

Why is he infected though? And why is Eclipse possible? Well, why was Freddy the only Glamrock to not get infected? Safety Mode.

Eclipse literally stated himself he's in safety mode. Eclipse IS safety mode. The robot broken? Reboot it, and it will restart in its default mode for safety reasons. Eclipse is Sun and Moon with their safety procedures on.

Why is Sun not affected by the virus though? The virus makes the animatronics kill. Sun may be a bit batshit from the trauma of the daycare closing and his other half literally killing kids, but he's not bad. He still actively protects Cassie and Gregory. He warns Cassie frantically to stay back if we approach before turning on both generators.

Nighttime mode is when the virus kicks in. During the day, the Glamrocks aren't violent. They perform, they go to their rooms, Roxy literally sees us and just calmly calls us her fan. It isn't until nightime protocols are active that the virus takes its start. The virus is attached to that part.

Sun doesn't have the virus because he literally has no such protocols. He's the DAYTIME attendant. He's designed to be on during the day, entertain the kids, the first thing he thinks of at night is having a sleepover. Moon was MADE for nightime protocols.

In the base game we get a note saying that Moon traumatised a kid, and, well... Sun did too.

Either 1) Moon tried to attack the kids and the workers turned on the generators or whatever, or 2) Moon only enters his nighttime protocols AFTER closing, so during nap time he was fine.

I personally believe the first one. Sun only became frantic after Moon obtained the glitch, and we know from the plushie descriptions that Moon seems genuinely nice pre-virus. Plus, we know he takes his time with his prey. He's not 'attack quick', he plays his prey like a game.

Either Moon had the virus, or a kid was frightened because of their appearance, which isn't impossible as canonically the candies were created as a way to make Sun and Moon seem less scary to the kids.

The only questions I have are: How did Sun talk after the merge? Can they talk independently through Eclipse, or was it through the mask? Why was Roxy able to snap out of the virus through the power of friendship and cake? We know Cassie has hung out with the daycare boys before, Roxy isn't the only one.

AND WHY IS MONTY SUCH AN EVIL SHIT

Me: *scrolling twitter in bed*

My gf: "I like to think Mario and Luigi are both colour blind and think they have matching outfits"

Me: *fucking losing it*

I love Steel Wool Studios' artstyle (the artist is Sabine Belofsky for what I heard), I think it should be the new official FNaF artstyle, replacing LadyFiszi's not-so-great humans.🥺
