Prompt 12
(A little late submission sorry)
Its the dead of the night as they lie on Ginny’s bed; Her head on his chest, while he runs his hands through her hair. Its peaceful.
“You never talk about it do you?”Harry says, breaking the comfortable silence.
“Hmm? About what Harry?”
“The diary”
She stirs, concerned.
“And what about it?”
“Gin-”
“What do you want me to say? You already know it was a hocrux and everything. And I don’t know much about the magic behind it so-”
“-Well not about it necessarily. I meant- About you- about the whole year- ”
“-How in the merlin did this topic come up so suddenly?” she asks, chuckling uncomfortably in a rather dark way.
“I’ve been trying to remember-”
“Why?-”
“You know why Gin”
She sighs, rolling off to face the ceiling.
“I honestly Dont know what to say more on it. I wrote in a diary, it tried to steal my fucking soul, I almost killed many people, and you saved me- so yes -the story of my life”
He faces her.
“You should know I feel guilty”
“Well there is no reason for you too Harry”
“But I do. I-I never asked you, never considered what might have happened after your first year- or before it. So selfish of me really”
“-Oh shut up. You had far more greater things to deal with-”
“-But”
“-and honestly I can explain the chamber by heart to anyone, rather than the before or after that. Its not the most pleasant you know. And its not a short story to tell just like that”
“-I’m sorry”
“-Dont. You don’t have to be”
He looks at her but she avoids his gaze.
“I know for a fact you still have nightmares”
“I do. But dont worry about it.”
They stay quiet for a second
“You have to let someone worry about you too you know. At least once in a while. I want to give as much as you do to me”
“It’s not a competition Harry” she smiles “We do things because we care, and please, I promise you, I know- I know you care for me. Okay? And I don’t need you to worry about more things right now”
“Please Gin I worry. Most times- I worry”
She looks at him.
“Ill tell you. I promise. I will. But the thing is I have never. So, just- give me time”
He kisses her forehead as they tangle into each other.
“Of course” he tucks her under his chin “We have time”

Summary: Albus and Minerva reminisce in old memories and realize just how much Harry and Ginny are like James and Lily. (Potter's and they're red heads am I right? Hehehehehehe :)
Notes: Takes place during Harry's 6th year ( or Ginny's 5th year) aka the Half Blood Prince. Honestly, I don't feel like the characters are too OOC this time or there at least more on point!
Characters: Harry Potter, Ginny Weasley, Minerva Mcgonnagal, Albus Dumbledore, Lily Potter, and James Potter.
Warning(s): Mostly just fluff and a bit of angst/bittersweetness since James and Lily are dead. This makes me sense when you read it.
