Hello. It has been five and a half years. If you’re still here and you are reading this, wow.

I guess I’m back on Tumblr now? I looked through the notifications and some of my posts are still getting the occasional like and reblog even now. I miss this. LLAP y’all

So I haven't been very active. Here's why: I'm studying in israel and my schedule has been crazy. I've decided to go on a...hiatus? Yeah. So I’m going to be living in Israel for the next ten months or so, and Star Trek isn’t available on Netflix there.  Does anyone know a way I could still watch ST without having to spend a ton of $$$ ??  Any advice would be appreciated.

YES Yes yes I would. And...I'd have to say the tng/ds9/voy era. Even though I'd be super into the TOS uniforms, I'd love to be posted to DS9, hang out at Quark's and vacation on Bajor and... and do exploratory missions into the gamma quadrant!! I could even start a family there and send my kids to Keiko's school...I'm smiling just thinking about it. I mean, the Dominion war would suck. But...yeah. still I'd want ds9. And I could rock pants just as well as I'd rock those TOS miniskirts ;)

[I don’t understand how anyone can have anything positive to say about Dukat. He’s nothing but evil. Yes, he has his moments, but in the end the only thing he cares about is his ego and controlling others. I know he’s *just* a character on a science fiction show, but there are a lot of people to whom he’s very real. There are a lot of people who have to live in fear because of people like him. That’s why I feel very wary of people who claim that they love Dukat.]

It’s hard to explain without spoilers but...okay so I think one of the reasons people like him, at least as a character, is his complexity.  In ST, it’s common for the villains to be very obviously villainous so that we have no problem punishing them. They are Bad and cannot be redeemed. Dukat is not a good man but he often has redeeming qualities and values in common with the Good Guys.  He wants the best for his family.  He wants to protect his children and the interests of the Cardassian people.  He’s also not completely stupid and not so easy to defeat like many other villains.  And he’s funny but a little cringey, like if a dad joke took on the form of a Cardassian Gul.

And in later seasons, we start to feel a little bit sorry for him because of...spoilers and stuff.

So yeah that might be why people like him.  Despite the fact that he’s evil and basically Space Hitler.

they’re bad.  I’m not gonna be all like **don’t BE INsECure you’re BEauTifUL! and AmaAZIng** because I don’t know your life.  But I do know that any insecurity can be dealt with or overcome in some way.  It may take a long time to figure out how and then to put in the work, but there is always some way.

you’re genuine and thoughtful.  Don’t care how smart you are, or how much attention you show me personally.  I’ll appreciate the crap outta you if you’re a decent person who doesn’t sweat the small stuff cause honestly that’s the kinda person i wanna be
