not the cougar i thought I’d attract but I’ll take it
My friend is doing fieldwork in Costa Rica and she informed me that if they want herbivores to stay out on an area for research, they spray Obsession around the area and I thought it was hilarious and made an incredibly specific niche meme that I never thought I’d be able to post
Im so fucking high. Hello

A series of pictures depicting issues for those who rely on wheelchairs.
A person with glasses sitting on a wheelchair stares at a door entrance located on a set of stairs.
Did you know... Some of us couldn’t even enter our own homes?
A crowd gathers in front of a bus, with a person on a wheelchair on the back, trying to get other people’s attention.
Please be mindful... Of those who can’t “push” their way around!
A woman with a hijab and glasses sits at a receptionist desk. A person on a wheelchair wearing a kippah is unable to reach the top to get her attention.
Simple things like reception desk height actually matters a lot!
A person on a wheelchair wearing a baseball hat backwards is unable to close the door to the restrooms. Despite this, the sign outside is marked as wheelchair accessible.
It is as if... Some doors aren’t meant to be closed!
A person on a wheelchair is frightened as their wheelchair goes down too fast down a ramp.
Did you know... That wheelchair ramps are steeper than recommended?
A man wearing a kippah is about to enter a temple, but covers his wheelchair wheels with a cover to keep the inside of the temple as clean as possible.
Wheelchairs go everywhere... But we can provide wheel covers for special places.
A picture of a parking lot Two cars are parked, one with most space to allow a disabled person to get on and off. A woman holding crutches is angered at a motorcycle parked in front of her car, which isn’t supposed to be there. A person on a wheelchair nearby notices her anger.
There’s a reason why... Certain space is allocated at disabled parking lots. And no, it’s not for your bike!
Two people stand in front of an automatic door. One is a child attempting to wave their hands to get it to open, and the other is a person on a wheelchair.
Notice that sometimes... Automatic door sensors are a bit short?
A bus is waiting at a stop. A person on a wheelchair is unable to get to the stop due to a steep ledge in front of them.
Are you aware that... Despite the upgraded buses, the bus stops need upgrading too?
A person on a wheelchair is using an ATM machine, which is placed at a lower position so they’re able to reach and use the machine comfortably.
In case you’re wondering... Why the new ATM machine designs are lower and slightly uncomfortable to use while standing up...

my mum took a video (with permission) of a man with no legs scooting backwards up the steps of our local train station, his friend had to carry his wheelchair up for him
I'd seen this guy do this a million times before, but normally he had to drag his own wheelchair up behind him
the video was supposed to bring awareness to the fact that the government was dragging its feet about putting lifts or even a ramp into the station, but when the video went viral a lot of the comments were incredibly ignorant
"why would you film him instead of helping him"
"why couldn't someone carry him up the stairs?"
"this is so staged"
"why didn't you carry him up?"
"someone should have carried him up"
nobody stopped to consider that maybe he didn't want a stranger carrying him up the stairs? maybe he didn't trust a stranger to carry his wheelchair when he didn't have a friend to do it?
if you wouldn't get in a car with a stranger or let them carry your wallet, why would you let them pick you up? why would you trust them with your only mode of transport?
it really sickened me that people could not would not see the real issue that was there and focused on how virtuous they were because they would have helped the man, they wouldn't have just stopped to film him like a monster
(despite the fact that my mum had gotten permission to film him for an awareness campaign and not for shits and giggles or internet views)
they also didn't give any focus or attention on the fact that the station needed fucking lifts, they didn't care about changing the infrastructure or holding the government accountable, they just wanted to yell at someone on the internet to make themselves feel superior
don't be like that, educate yourselves, listen to disabled people, hold businesses/governments/corporations accountable for accessibility, take the fight to the source
The same thing happened when Airbnb started as “you got a spare room? why not rent it out to a visitor for a few nights? you get some extra cash and they get a nice place to stay while they visit the city” and it immediately turned into “I’m gonna buy up every available unit in this condo building downtown and rent them out short term, contributing to massive rent increases, severe housing shortages, loud inconsiderate assholes treating places where people are supposed to live like cheap no-restriction hotels, and then bitch and moan when Airbnb gets banned from my building before just continuing on anyway”
reminder that startups thrive on finding unregulated markets and exploiting legal loopholes.
uber got around taxi and public transportation regulation. airbnb got around rental housing regulation. wework got around commercial rental regulation. amazon and a whole host of companies are getting around labor regulation by using contractors.
God: where’s Abel?
Cain: fuck if I know??? I’m not in charge of him
It is TRAGIC that you can’t read this in the original Hebrew.
God: Where’s the Sheepkeeper?
Cain: Do I LOOK like a Brotherkeeper?
God: hey where’s Abel???
Cain:
He killed his yonger brother in cold blood because he was jealous of him. There is in no way anything funny about this. No hesitation just poped a rock over his turned head, droped his body over the edged and tried to lie to god about what he did. FUCK YALL CRAZIES!!!
oh are those the receipts, Cain is problematic now?

the bad news is that my mom was sad that her eggplants haven’t been growing; however, it turns out that the reason her eggplants haven’t been growing is because her eggplants were actually spinach. The good news is that her spinach is growing very well. She was also sad that her peppers haven’t been growing either, but it turns out that the peppers were actually eggplant. And I’m happy to report that the eggplant is also growing very well.

This is basically what my physical therapist had me do for my back problems last year and it helped with the pain so much! Also walk for at least thirty minutes a day, even if it's just in small chunks throughout the day.
hate being the generation that remembers no ads on YouTube & the annoyance when we first saw 1 ad every 10 videos, then 1 every 5 videos, then on every video, then multiple ads within a single video, only for YouTube to market paying for Premium™️ to ‘get rid of ads!’ which weren’t even there at the start
I hate being the generation that remembers when I could easily find episodes of anime and whole ass movies on YouTube.
Hate being the generation that remembers when YouTube videos would buffer when you pause them, allowing the entire video to load and let you watch it without interruption even on slow connections.
most of us need to be shown how to be considerate
not as a criticism or anything, I just mean that
A. being able to care for other people is a skill that’s practiced and honed
B. being considerate for each person is so wildly different, 90% of the time you will have no way of knowing how to be considerate for someone until they show you
C. you can try to get better at figuring out what people need implicitly, but all that skill really is is listening so just get better at listening
D. being good at listening and adapting on the fly is maybe the most precise definition of being considerate I can think of, so strive for that and just know you’re never gonna be a telepath
It’s also really important to build the skill of expressing what you need to other people. You need to be able to say things like, “Here are my pronouns” or “Can we not talk about this subject? Thank you” or “Hey, can you help me with ___?” Because other people are never going to be telepaths either. Sometimes you may think that what you need from somebody is really obvious, but to them it really isn’t. Negotiating needs and boundaries often needs to be stated explicitly, in words, not implicitly, in silent expectations.

God could you imagine not giving a fuck about anything
The diet industry wants your money and doesn’t care about your health.
Here are 10 examples of this to serve as reminders you can come back to.
10. It took two weeks for the industry to respond to a pandemic with the suggestion of immune boosting foods. This is not a thing.
9. Keto is Atkins, recycled.
8. Alkaline eating is not real. Nothing you eat will change your pH. This is good.
7. You cannot hack your health.
6. The only real appetite suppressant is food.
5. Clean eating is not real. Wash your hands. Wash your dishes. Clean.
4. There are zero health conditions that occur in only fat bodies. Zero.
3. Diet culture posits health as a choice. This is an untrue statement.
2. The diet industry is behind the wellness industry that unfairly suggests to humans that the side effects of being human can be mitigated with food. They cannot.
1. It garners $72 BILLION DOLLARS/year.
