Me driving through a rural area: I am a lone wanderer. This freedom is unparalleled. Anti-carism is a psyop to destroy America. This is the best thing to ever happen to me.
Me driving through a populated city/suburban area: AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA

I know this may be a not so popular idea but, I think that Michael’s reluctance to work with KITT wasn’t just because he saw him as a computer and not as a being. I personally think it’s also because Michael wants to work alone from a responsibility standpoint. The last time he was in charge of a person when on a mission that person got killed along with him. I feel that Michael puts all of the responsibility of Muntzy’s death on his shoulders, he was supposed to have his partner’s back and he failed to protect him. Therefore, Michael doesn’t want to work with anyone else because he is internally terrified he will fail them when they need him most.
Now, it’s cannon he thought of KITT as a machine and nothing more so obviously that contributes to this. I just think Michael wasn’t so standoffish before he died and that all that happened also made him initially more bitter. I feel Michael is reluctant to work with KITT for more than just the “he is a computer” excuse, I think there is something else that is deeper than that.
No, I think you're right. Michael says in the pilot: 'My last partner's dead, from now on I work alone'. Then he learns that Kitt is indestructible - until he's really really not, in later episodes - and forms a bond with him.

reasons sublitters gave for why you should vote for each of the contestants
“Who is to say that I have not walked among you mortals in your clumsy bipedal forms? I have huddled under rotten blankets, observing from the gutter. I have roamed the lonely stacks of your pitiful libraries, mocking those who deem themselves wise. I have tutored you in the dark woods, sharing secrets you should not know.”
–Hermaeus Mora confessing he can take a human form if he wishes.
I know ppl go wild for king/knight and king/jester relationship dynamics on this website but I do want to pitch: knight/jester. Loyal warrior who's not been known to suffer fools and the fool who wants nothing more than to be suffered by them, working under the same leige. Think about it and get back to me
