Which, you know, isn't really a list of moral failings, it's just a list of things that make people miserable.

I don't have answers because things weren't exactly better when kids wandered like feral cats and got kidnapped or abused. But making kids learn to make their own fun because they're bored seems like a solid place to start.

One of my current closest friends is a cishet guy who has a friend group that is almost entirely populated of queer people because a bunch of his friends have come out around him since high school.

Fascists want you scared and isolated and alone. The way to combat that is to trust other people. And yeah. Re-reblogging to add: Out of the 48 trans patients with thyroid diagnoses, 26 were taking estrogen and 21 were taking testosterone. One is unspecified in the article.

43 of this thyroid dx/hrt group had hypothyroidism! That's 8.7% of the population taking hrt (total sample of 554), while 3-5% is the rate in the non-hrt population.

In other words: this applies to ALL folks taking hrt. This study found that hypothyroidism is somewhat more common with estrogen hrt, but the rate is still elevated with testosterone hrt vs people not taking any at all.

If you're on hrt and show signs of thyroid issues, talk to your care provider! It's common in general, and more common in us.

Because a lot of endocrinologists are weird fatphobic transphobic assholes here is what to do to get your levels checked: ask them to run full thyroid work up including TBG and F14, F13 levels. If they refuse, claiming that your TSH levels are normal, remind them that TSH is a pituitary hormone and can take many years before matching actual thyroid hormone levels. Tell them that the prevalence of hypothyroidism in trans people is approximately 8.7%, much higher than the estimates of 3-5% in the general population, and that estrogen can overstress a trans person’s thyroid causing hypothyroidism. If they still refuse, report them to whatever body governs their behaviour and find a new doctor.

Saw this in the notes and figured I'd step in!

So, for non-SDV players, in most farming sims you can get married to certain characters and have children with them, however this is typically a permanent choice that can't be undone, so if you want to marry someone else or not have kids you would have to start over with a fresh save.

But SDV is different. The game has a witch's hut you can eventually unlock that lets you use...black magic, basically, to soft-reset marriage/children choices without starting over. There's a divorce option so you can ditch your spouse, but that's the only normal one. It also adds an option to turn your children into doves to get rid of them, hence OP saying they "birded" their kids. You're not...technically killing them...but only barely.

(It also adds an option to mind-wipe your previous spouse so they don't remember being married to you and thus don't hate you, and you can even remarry them then if you want, but I don't think that was needed for this, just figured it was sinister enough to warrant a mention.)

All that to say, the reddit OP married a character, progressed to the point that they had a child with them, and then used black magic to "kill" the child and divorce their spouse before moving on to the next marriage candidate and doing the same, over and over until they had gone through all twelve marriage candidates, resulting in a collection of twelve "dead" children.
