Perdere

Ho pensato per molto tempo a cosa ho perso nel tempo: una volta persi una felpa grigia e mia mamma me lo rinfaccia ancora adesso, dopo almeno dieci anni. Ho perso amici, fiducia e anche molto tempo, inseguendo quello che avrebbe potuto essere l'amore della mia vita o una nuova avventura da affrontare. Ho anche cercato di rimediare a queste perdite ma ogni volta mi rendevo conto che forse c'era un motivo per cui non avevo più quelle cose. Lasciavo andare. Mi scivolava tutto addosso e non mi importava di lasciarmi sfuggire qualcosa. Poi mi sono fermata e ho capito una cosa: non dovevo perdermi io. Se il mondo perdeva, la gente intorno a me cadeva, io sarei dovuta rimanere in piedi. E ora continuo a reggere ogni parte di me, cercando di non crollare alla prima scossa. Voglio vincere almeno un gara: quella contro di me.
