I think it can also interfere with birth control pills.

If you take any oral medication, assume you cannot consume grapefruit by default, until you are reliably informed otherwise. Including for OTC meds and supplements.

Grapefruit ain’t that good.

But your health is.

Parden my obnoxious giant rainbow, it’s for maximum visibility. This shit is important.

DO NOT EAT GRAPEFRUIT IF YOU TAKE BLOOD THINNERS

whish they told us this in school, all they did was say “feel for lumps, you will know when you feel it”

This is important, even if it doesn’t work with your blog theme REBLOG IT!!!!

Women need to know this, not all of us have ever been told what we need to look out for!

adults don't stop having imaginary friends we just start referring to them as original characters

Don't worry they haven't found my emotional support idealized version of myself.

do you mean your Original Protagonist

Yo why are all of you feeling bad? Be happy that your inner child is still alive

that is a magnificent attitude honestly, I love that.

adults and teens have so many of the same needs as young children, it's just that the ways we fill those needs change over time. we all have a need for creative outlets, a need to tell stories even if only to ourselves, a need to express and explore different facets of the self and keep ourselves company in our own heads.

I think it's nifty that young kids just naturally invent imaginary friends (without anyone showing them how!), and that that is a totally normal part of being a tiny human. I think it's lovely that as we grow (and learn more clearly to distinguish fiction from reality), our relationship with imagination shifts, and we try to funnel that creative impulse into more solid forms. I think it's fabulous that so many people are out there making up characters and stories inside their heads, because not only is that how stories come to exist and be shared with the world, but because that is such a meaningful part of the internal human experience. Just like there is value in singing when no one else is in the room, in dancing when no one else is watching, so too is there value in imagination--even and especially when you are your own audience. In such quite ways, we fill our lives with sparkling color.

Just so ya'll know. They're gonna loophole this which is why we have to spread this information. I work at a pharmacy and I can tell you that a lot of these insurance companies only "Cover" them. Here's what has been happening: You go to your doctor to get PrEP, they write a prescription and send it to the Pharmacy. When you get there they tell you that insurance isn't covering it. You say that the law says that they have to. They say that it will, but not through THEM. The insurance company says that they'll only cover it through a "specialty pharmacy" (which on the one hand, fair enough, NIOSH standards for drugs state that if you are handling the pills then there are specific forms of PPE you need that we at retail do not have, but on the other hand that doesn't matter if we aren't opening the freaking bottles) which will then either mail it to you or ship it to the pharmacy to take it out of the box, scan it in, and bag it. Which is what we'd do normally anyways except with the added step of making you wait 2-3 business days to get it. And because technically they "cover it" it's not a law violation. But they're hoping that you'll not want to wait and just pay the $3000 out of pocket.

For any of my US friends out there 👍💡

Gilead also has a program that helps cover co-pays! When i was on prep it helped me get it for free. Probably a little late now but every bit of info can help

ok but can we all agree that the best villain troupe is just this:

[image id: drawing of a wild looking person on a baby leash, the word villain above them. another person is holding the leash, the word henchmen above them. both words are written in black and, apart from the black outline of the people, the image is white.]

Though the jokes that "since gay pride month is over, july is now gay wrath month" are funny and all, it's important to remember that July is ACTUALLY Disability Pride Month and y'all should really be focused on boosting disabled voices and issues this month! For instance, the fact that marriage equality doesn't actually truly exist in the United States for disabled people, or the fact that disabled people are forced to live in poverty or lose their disability benefits, or the fact that 1 in 5 people with chronic pain end up sufferring from alcoholism or other addictions, or how accessibility is still a daily battle for all of us, or how there are active hate groups on places like reddit who try to "call out" those they see as "faking" their disabilities.

This July, boost disabled voices. Talk about the issues that our community faces. Call out ableism.

Tumblr is my favourite social media site because this place is literally uninhabitable for celebrities. No verification system, no algorithm that boosts their posts, it’s a completely lawless wasteland for them

Except Neil Gaiman.

Neil Gaiman goes on Tumblr to avoid writing and honestly, same.

i hate how reward systems never work for me like i can’t just say “if i finish this assignment i can have a cookie” bc my brain is like “…..or u could just have one right now” and i can’t argue with that logic

Self-imposed deadlines don’t work either because I know the guy who set them and he’s full of shit

This is going around again, so I should say, I was wrong when I wrote this.

Actually, I know the girl who set them and she’s full of shit

Congrats on the gender. Get well soon with the executive dysfunction

OH MY GOD

(from @me-ndel)

If you live in Alabama and you have a trans child age 19 or younger and they're receiving hormone therapy, get THE FUCK out now.

The state of Alabama has just made it a felony to give trans children ages 19 or younger hormone therapy or affirmation surgery.

Trans Lives Matter and stay safe.

-fae

IMPORTANT ADDITION: The Alabama House bill that will accompany this bill forces teachers and medical professionals to out trans youth to their parents.

THIS WILL KILL TRANS KIDS.

This combination of legislation is The most violent anti-trans legislation to date in the US. If you can do so safely, get out. Get out now. Get your children out. Please.

Amazon Unveils a [Horrifying] Fanfic Publishing Platform

Today, Amazon announced the imminent launch of its newest endeavor, Kindle Worlds, a publishing platform for fanfiction. When I read the announcement, I was horrified, then angry, then sad. I want to take a moment to explain why this is such a tragedy.

This is REALLY IMPORTANT guys. AO3 is so special as a platform. Don’t get suckered in by shiny features or whatever!

If you don’t feel like reading after the read more, here is the most important stand out of Kindle World’s TOS.

“By using the platform, authors give all rights to the work to Amazon, who can then license your elements to other authors with no compensation to the original poster.”

If you want to retain rights to your work, don’t use this site. Stick to AO3.
