However, she made it clear that she believed her presence as an older Jewish professor would make students safer by showing solidarity, and is outraged by the school’s response. Dartmouth claims that her suspension was “an error in the bail process, which they were working to fix.” Dr. Orleck was knocked to the ground and zip-tied, and came away with a case of whiplash.

Dartmouth brought in police only two hours after the encampment was set up, and the president has strongly defended her choice to create a culture of escalation and violence.
