If everyone in the Batch ends up living, and they all go back to Pabu, I don't believe that Crosshair is going to stay. I think he's going to go with Echo and Cody and Rex and the others. It would be the perfect ending in a way for the Clone who hated regs: to end up leaving with them as supposed to the Batch.

I had this thought as well. I think it would be a very good way to end his character arc and give him a true redemption. If he just went back to Pabu with the Batch, there would always be fans saying that he hadn’t done enough to atone for what he did, that he didn’t deserve that peace and redemption. I think that joining the clone rebellion would be a great way for him to try and right the wrongs he committed in service of the Empire and would be a poignant nod to his bond with Mayday/how it changed him.

Additionally, from a character perspective, I don’t think it would make sense for Crosshair to settle down immediately with the Bad Batch. He hasn’t had the transitionary period they have. He’s been thrown from the Republic to the Empire and finally into Dr. Hemlock’s clutches without any real chance to decide what he wants to fight for, if anything. I think him choosing to fight beside Rex and Echo would be a fantastic cap to his story and a real sign of growth on his part.

Also, he’s still very clearly nursing the hurt of being abandoned by his brothers (and honestly Hunter was ready to leave him again—it’s up for debate whether or not this was a reasonable decision, but I don’t believe that by the end of the season he and Cross are going to be—or even should be—at a point where either of them can completely ignore the tension between them). I think him taking some time to get his head on straight away from his batchmates is something he needs before he settles down. He obviously loves them, but I feel like he would need the space to process things in his own time.

You ever think about how one of Crosshair’s last memories of Tech is going to be his brother aiming a blaster at his head?

Like, it’s a completely understandable decision on Tech’s part, but damn that still has to sting. There was once a time when his brothers would have trusted him without question, when it wouldn’t even have occurred to them to take aim at him. Those times are gone, and now he’ll never be able to make it up to Tech…
