in case you guys haven’t been following it a Supreme Court case glacier nw was just ruled so that companies can sue their union workers for going on strike. like if you go on strike the union could have to pay damages. so that’s bad

to clarify: the case in question involved a concrete-mixing company, and the workers walked off the site with wet concrete still in their trucks - they left the trucks running so the concrete could be disposed of, but the ruling states that because they chose to mix the concrete before walking off the site, the company is out the cost of the concrete through a deliberate action by the workers and the union. it's also specifically stating that state courts take jurisdiction in cases like this, not the NLRB (which is a problem considering how many states are currently anti-union)

it is a concerning result that does push back against the power strikes have right now, as workers will have to consider a little more carefully about whether their actions can be construed as "deliberately causing excess damage" before going on strike, but it isn't just "companies can sue you for going on strike now." it's bad, but it's also important for us to know where our rights stand as workers who may still need to strike.

"you're not man enough, not feminine enough"

so gender is something we can fail?

that means gender is not genetic and absolute and unchangeable

but something we can build and perform, and fail at (the standards they set) but also redefine?

if i can fail at being a woman, does that mean i'm not a woman? so does that make me another gender?

i agonized for 15 minutes about the wording of my post and you manage to simplify it with a perfect mean girls reference
