The Holes in Shawmila’s Timeline

I gathered all the important things they said about their relationship, how it all ended out and everything I could find about when Camila recorded the songs for Romance. This is going to be a whole ass post, so good luck.

First, I just wanna point out how we can’t trust what Camila says in her interviews. Like, according to her, they started to work on the album in the summer 2018, and it all started with three songs: First Man, Dream of You and Living Proof. But, after the album came out, Camila changed her answer, here  she says that it was Feel It Twice, Should’ve Said It and First Man. Now, we know she isn’t lying about FM, since the song was leaked in November 2018, but the other two? I think she was lying.

I honestly think that all the songs she had written after coming up with the concept for CC2, First Man is the only one that ended up in the album. After she agreed on working with Shawn in another collab, she had to come up with songs that could be linked to him, not Matthew.

ㅤㅤㅤㅤ Feel It Twice, Should’ve Said It

Camila said both songs were written in the same week, now, I didn’t find anything that could prove that, I still don’t know for sure when they started to work on Should’ve Said It, but I did find something about Feel It Twice. On January 22, Camila posted a story with Amy Allen and Louis Bell, the co-writers of FIT [ the only song Amy Allen has worked with Camila until now].  

ㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤDream of You, Living Proof

On January 31, Camila teased us with the lyrics of DOY and revealed the title of one of the tracks, Living Proof. She also posted a video of Sinu listening to Dream of You, (here’s another link with the audio synced). On April 19, Camila was in the studio with Mattias Larsson [from Mattman & Robin, producers of Dream of You and Living Proof] and Justin Tranter, they were either finishing Living Proof or Dream of You.

ㅤㅤㅤSeñorita, Used to This, This Love

As I said in this post I made in June, all that story that it took 10 months for Camila to agree on recording Señorita with Shawn is bullshit. Until this day they still don’t know who came up with the idea and for who they wrote the song for. Watt says they sent it to Shawn, Charli XCX says she discussed it with Camila who wanted to do it with Shawn. With that said, based on the co-writers’ interview for Billboard, Watt went to England on April 7 because Camila had changed the key of the song, that means: they were already working on it before April. Shawn got back from his tour in May, he was staying in New York until May 15 promoting IICHY. On May 16, he was in the studio with Watt and Benny Blanco. They must’ve finished the song that week, because the rehearsals for the music video happened on May 21, and 22. They shot the music video on 23 and 24.

I have already made a post about Used to This, and there’s also this big help we got from an Anon.  In the end of March, Camila was having studio sessions with Finneas, and on April 9, Camila and Finneas were in the studio when the power went out, just like she said in her interview with Chelsea. Amy Wadge was in the studio with Camila early in April, she’s the co-writer of First Man and Used to This. She’s also one of the reasons why Finneas and Camila’s story about writing the song in July doesn’t add up, since in that week Amy was working with Jonas Brothers on their new album. Also, there’s this interview where Finneas said they had a studio session in March and went over a few ideas, but the idea only came up after Camila went to San Francisco to see Shawn:

“Then she texts me out of the blue a few months later: ‘I have this song I need to write,’” he said. In the studio the next day, “Used to This” — a dreamy ballad about that fated evening in San Francisco — promptly tumbled out”.

Which is something completely different from what Camila had told Chelsea: she said they have already come up with the concepts and the chorus before she went to SF. In that same week, in April, Romans (he produced This Love), Jordan Reynolds (producer and co-writer of First Man) were there too, finishing First Man and This Love.

ㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤCry for Me, Easy

On April 14, Camila posted a story with the lyrics of Easy, and on April 25, she was in the studio with Justin Tranter, and Frank Dukes [producer of Easy]. On April 30, Louis Bell and Frank Dukes [they produced Cry for Me] were in the studio with Camila.

ㅤㅤBad Kind of Butterflies, Shameless, Liar

Bad Kind of Butterflies was recorded on May 4. On May 15, Camila posted a video of her in the studio, later on we found out that she was recording Shameless, and in this picture you can see she was at Watt’s studio.  In the behind the scenes of Liar, we can see that she was wearing that same clothes on the first day of the rehearsals for Señorita music video, that means she was in the studio on May 22, and two days later Ali Tamposi, Watt, Jon Bellion and the producers (the monsters and the strangerz) of Liar were together.

To sum up: all the songs were written before the release of Señorita. And here is where their narrative starts to fall apart.

The last time Camila and Matthew were seen together was in May, 2019. They went to Italy together on May 6 and on May 14 they were back to LA and that was the last time Camila was seen with him. The news about their break up only came after 4 days after Shawn and Camila released Señorita, on June 24. Why is this important? Well, first, we have to pay attention to when the songs were written and what history they’re telling us.

Bad Kind of Butterflies, for example, was recorded on May 4 and the song is supposedly about Camila having a conversation with her ex-boyfriend, saying she was having feelings for somebody else. It’s a break up song. But why would Camila confess to Matthew that she wants somebody else and 4 days later go to a romantic trip with him? and they were seen together there. This doesn’t sound something Camila would do.

Liar and Shameless, according to Camila, were written during the rehearsals for Señorita music video.  But we already know she’s lying, she recorded them right after she came back from a romantic trip with her boyfriend. And although Liar was actually recorded that week, we know it had nothing to do with Shawn, because she was almost done with the album. She wrote Used to This 3 months before she went to San Francisco with Shawn. There’s no way for Shameless, Liar, Used to This, Easy, Living Proof, Bad Kind of Butterflies, This Love, and Dream of You to be about him. They were all written before June that year. I’ll talk about Should’ve Said It and Feel It Twice later, proving that they aren’t about Shawn either.

How their relationship started:

That’s it. They weren’t giving too much detail about their “relationship”; they were letting everyone guess what was going on while they were being papped every single week. Their “relationship” already looked fishy, people weren’t buying it, everything looked staged, fake. Then Camila released her album and things started to look even more suspicious… The confirmation that everything was planned came with Shawn’s 4th album.

Should’ve Said It and Feel It Twice are about Camila confronting someone. SSI, she says it’s too late, they shouldn’t have waited for her to be with someone else to finally do something. In FIT, she says she won’t do it again, she suffered enough. Now, I have already talked about Why, Shawn said he wrote it in 2018 and was going to show Camila the song, he was going to finally confess his feelings, but… Camila was seeing another guy. The most important line in the songs is the one she mentions that the it took 2 years for the person to stop playing her, she wanted to be their girlfriend, not their fuck buddy. To fit in Shawmila’s narrative, the song takes place in 2018, because of, you know, Matthew. So, at first, I said it didn’t make sense because they met each other in 2014, right? – Again, this is what the song implies: they’ve known each other for two years, because while it took that long for the person to want to be with her, she knew it was them when they first met, but okay, we can ignore that. We can say Camila’s actually referring to 2016 and yet things won’t add up. Didn’t she say she started to develop feelings for him in 2015? Weird… But, hey, if you think that was a mess, just check this out: Shawn’s new album has a very interesting song, it’s called Song For No One, it was written in 2017:

Okay, so in 2017 he texted her “I love you”, Camila didn’t reciprocate his feelings then in 2018 he wrote Why, that’s about him not having the guts to just say what he feels for her… but we cannot forget the fact that he was going to confess his feelings, for the first time, to her in New York. Is this 50 First Dates or something? Like, in this interview, he says it took him 5 years to gather courage to tell her he loves her.  Also, he’s saying 5 years (they met each other in July, 2014) because they simply don’t give a fuck to cover their old lies, like:

He had a girlfriend for two years.

Shawn and Hailey were a thing in 2017, he himself has admited it in his interview  with Rolling Stones (the one he says he thinks he needs to be publicly seen with a woman otherwise people will think he’s gay), and Particular Taste and Mutual were initially written about her.  

Resumo da ópera: you can’t link Romance to Shawn, because:

1. Camila is a lesbian, guys. 2. She finished the album, like, almost two months before they started their stunts in July. 3. The songs in Romance don’t add up to hers and Shawn’s interviews. 4. She’s not diving in in a dick, for fuck’s sake.

Bonus: Shawn doesn’t know how to do math: 2015 + 3 + 2? Does he mean 2020?
