i would not take map layouts in the game as 100% literal. they're all abstractions that are Good Enough for the sake of the game. allison's house doesn't have a visible bathroom for the same reason that the guardian's tower doesn't seem to have bathrooms, the library only has five bookshelves, you don't see any sort of school or grocery store in greenridge, and every building you can enter has its entrance facing the south. meanwhile melody's house gets a bathroom because it's needed for a story scene
