Nothing I’ve read has changed me more than “you do people a favor by accepting their help” like I repeat this constantly to so many people because it’s true!!! People like to feel useful, they like to feel kind, they like to feel like they have an ability to impact people’s lives so just let them!! Not everything is a thing to be owed back — accept people’s kindness without making a competition out of it
The cedar waxwings blew through a few weeks ago. As a species, their M.O. is to show up like locusts, eat every berry in the state, poop on everyone's cars, and then vanish within a day. I respect it, i suppose.
honestly will never forget this older client we had who told me how her life had gotten so much better with time and age and asked how old I was and when I told her I was 28, she said I was just a baby and reassured me I had so much time ahead of me and how much better it'll get as I grow into my life. There was such an indescribable amount of love and hope in that single interaction I think I'll hold it with me forever.

made by hand primarily from paper + bits of basswood, toothpicks, clear resin, floral wire, & wool batting. set on a hardwood base
inspired by the illustrations of Luis Melo and Kevin's Computer this took on a collage style bashing of regional components to capture Leyndell in a single composition
