the evolutionarily novel thing

@innko

there’s a villain origin story here somewhere

not my mother always replying to my messages with gifs that make no sense

it was so strange to see my friend again after so long. he told me three other people we knew from uni, as well as his mom, say hi. i never met his mom, the only interaction i’ve had with her is that she once mailed me a book of my friend’s that i needed to borrow for class, and i sent her a card to thank her. one of our uni acquaintances is in law school at the same uni. he regrets it but he’s 2 years and $100,000 of debt in. he’s recently discovered a passion for skating and while he’s still going to be a lawyer, he wants to really do something with skating in his life. he was always crazy smart. our other acquaintance is in the naval intelligence now, out on a ship in the baltic sea. she was super competitive when we were students and hated my guts sometimes because i did really well, oftentimes better, than her. and the third person from uni we know, i was properly friends with. we don’t talk much anymore but i have him on instagram. i think we could still be friends if we were local. there was a surprising warmth in this, a beam of sunshine from a faraway country that’s an absolute shitshow but where people manage to not be beaten down like they are here.

about to see one of my friends from uni i haven’t met in person in over 3 years !!

humidity’s 90%, the bathroom at work feels like a fucking sauna, and they still have the toilet seat heating on

ok wow it just occurred to me that on the occasion i actually was invited to someone’s party or whatever as a kid in the rural US it was easier because almost everyone had animals and i just hung out mostly with the critters but that wasn’t seen as so abnormal

it’s do i have asthma or is it hard for everyone to breathe in 70% + humidity season

this guy was sitting ACROSS THE AISLE from his mum(?) and talking to her so loudly i had to get up and move to the other side of the car

this train is not full at all SIT NEXT TO EACH OTHER AND SPEAK AT A REGULAR VOLUME
