This art is silly but also i do appreciate the way the design makes her top look like a bikini without actually being one afaict (kinda hard to be sure, but im p sure that we're not REALLY looking at cleavage there and more the "suggestion" of cleavage)

Well, the titan "submarine" is your local fucking reminder that "Regulations are written in blood" Is NOT a just a fucking saying or just a fucking joke.

If you are taking the car to Chicago, can you even call yourself a feminist. There are Women on that train who want to have gay sex with you but can't because you are taking a fucking car to Chicago

Right now there is a very buff Butch woman all alone in the Cafe car and she could be having steamy gay sex with you and be moving into your apartment if you were just willing to take the train to Chicago

I'm busy trying to get more lesbians to ride the train instead of taking their Subarus to Chicago

me: sometimes 'science,' as a mode of inquiry, is put to explicitly power-bound ends like creating and reifying categories of 'race' or shoring up imperial and colonial power

57 people on this website immediately and in unison: i agree, sometimes the honourable good enlightened morally good venerable scientists have their noble enlightening edifying inherently valuable work misused for nefarious ends by some other actor whose goals are a horrible anomalous deviation from normal scientific functioning! good post op!

No joke, go read The Open Veins of Latin America before even trying to send me a political ask. Mandatory reading.

It's a cliché that every Latin American leftist has read it and quotes it, but that's because it's written in such a clear language with undeniable strenght on its facts. It presents the history of Latin America solidly just in the first few pages, and it only gets more engrossing the more it goes on. While it is now a bit outdated in the sense that it was first published in 1971, the historical, social and political issues presented are -in an unfortunate way- still current. It is a relatively short book, passionate and in a clear, poetic language.

Sometimes it's good to return to the basics, and this is THE basic book if you want to understand the effects of imperialism in Latin America, and our struggle for freedom and identity.

Instead of losing your time with half baked twitteroid takes, go read it. Here you go, for free, in Spanish, Portuguese and English:

youtubers love to say “i hope i’m pronouncing that correctly” while recording themselves in a video that they upload to the internet, which they have access to

and its close sibling, "I'm not even going to try to pronounce that one," while covering a foreign culture in their video. Girlie, this is your job! Try at all at it!

between tumblr being found guilty of moderating lgbtq content unequally during the 2018 ban in court and @ sorryforpartyrocking being nuked for suggesting one of tumblr staff may have investment in defending terfs to now many different trans women having their text posts and selfies being flagged as mature without the opportunity to appeal in any meaningful way (one of which was nuked herself)… it’s very. hmmmm. it’s a bad look. as if staff wasn’t already on thin ice for refusing to engage in any effective way with hate speech. “queerest space on the internet” my ass
