Rosalie and Alice should have had opposite roles in twilight. Think of it, Rosalie values humanity over everything. She craves being human and tries her best to emulate that. It would make much more sense to have Rosalie make a huge deal out of prom and Bella’s birthday and even Bella’s wedding. It should have been Rosalie itching to finally have a human friend and begging Edward to let her talk to Bella. Give me mechanic Rosalie fixing Bella’s truck after Petty Eddie breaks it. Give me mechanic Rosalie riding on Jake’s old motorcycle with Bella because she really did miss it and while vampire running makes her nauseous, biking makes her feel alive. Give me supportive Rosalie who has no diabolical motives to help pregnant Bella, give me Aunt Rose who showers her best friend’s daughter with affection because that’s just natural between them. Emmett already likes Bella, Rosalie’s love for her would just be the icing on the cake.
Then you have Alice, who saw various futures of Edward murdering his entire biology class to get to Bella’s blood, who saw Bella getting crushed by that van and potentially endangering everyone in that parking lot, who saw Edward maybe killing her in the meadow, who even saw the nomads sniffing around when there’s a fresca smelling human in their midst. You’re telling me Alice, the one who literally saw the Cullens and made them her entire future, is totally okay with this human danger magnet? Alice, who has firsthand knowledge of the destruction Bella could/would/did cause in their lives? Canon Alice didn’t give two shits about bringing human Bella to Volterra (where it was very likely she would die or at the very least could never remain human afterwards). Canon Alice had to be bribed with a foreign sports car to have a sleepover with Bella (ie kidnap her so she’d stay away from La Push). Alice is also visibly annoyed when Bella makes Edward step out of the fight, and Alice packs lingerie for Bella’s honeymoon when she should damn well know having sex as a human could kill her. Added to all of that is the fact that Alice can’t see around Nessie and is never shown to be directly interacting with her and we’re supposed to believe Aunt Alice gives as much of a damn about the kid as she does about Bella, which was already a pretty low bar? Alice never cared about Bella’s discomfort with dressing up and even forced newborn Bella into a cocktail dress knowing damn well newborn Bella would need to hunt ASAP. She guilt tripped Bella into having a big, fat wedding. Rosalie was the one to forgo her own discomfort with Bella to share her incredibly traumatic personal story because she cared about Bella making the wrong choice, and we’re supposed to believe Alice was the one in her corner? Lastly, Jasper is already weary around Bella for his own bloodlust reasons, it would be normal for Alice to be at least standoff-ish. Nothing adds up except for the fact that Smeyer probably couldn’t take it if Bella Self Insert Swan had a beautiful blonde goddess as a best friend
