Closing the Gap

To right the countless wrongs of our day, we shine this light of true redemption, that this place may become as paradise. What a wonderful world such would be...

reminding myself there are no truly "bad days", because every single day, someone somewhere in the world has taken a photo of an extremely tiny animal and shown it to someone else, and that's very good actually

look at this absolutely fucking MINISCULE rabbit. i am sharing it with you. i hope it improves your day

truly insane and despicable that current year's answer to internet child safety is just "let them free roam unsupervised wherever they please and expect everyone else on the internet to moderate the web for them." an entire generation after seeing what that kind of unlimited access does to kids. mind boggling.

Uh, no? Politicians have been literally pushing for oppressive privacy-restricting laws in the name of "protecting children" that will end up killing queer, abused, etc. kids. And also harm adults. It's fucked up. 100 times rather someone see something they don't want to see than be murdered when the government mandates dictate that their legal guardians can see their little gay social media posts. But go off I guess. More important to have a pure and padded experience for kids than just accept that the internet is the wild west and you know, not endanger the lives and privacy of every single person that uses the internet.

we're on the same side. I want kids curbed off the net by their parents and a more unfiltered internet where average random internet users are not constantly forced to censor shit for the sake of kids/expected to do parent's job for them/invade everyone's privacy/whatever. I want a societal shift among parents n general culture that keeps electronics n social media out of the hands of young children, NOT govt interference. ever.

free, unrestricted net forever. but the presence of free roaming children further tempts the govt into regulations to protect them. parents just gotta do better, that's all I'm on Abt.

Don't really think we are. Dyou believe all parents or legal guardians know what's best for the kids? What happens when they're depressed, or gay, or have questions that their parents or school won't answer? As someone who was abused and is very much against authority, I don't think pushing for people to be even more controlling of children is the revolutionary idea some people seem to think it is. Not everyone is lucky enough to have fully supportive, helpful, caring, and knowledgeable parents. I'd wager most people aren't.

Our quarrel should not be with the freedom of information or pushing people to restrict this freedom from children more. Our quarrel should be with the government and the government alone for trying to push such policies. Children are not subhuman, and they do deserve access to information and ideas outside whichever bubble they may live in.

What I'm hearing is "we should support community/parent enforced ignorance instead of government enforced ignorance." How about the option where we don't support either?

sure, a guy from patriot front who runs a 1942 nazi rp server on gmod got caught trying to sell "femboy tummy pills" within a day by leaving his full legal name on the paypal transaction site. why not

They are not sending their best

Alternate hypothesis: these are their best.
